I like to use exfoliation products daily on body and face. For the most part I've used an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid).
10% lotion on body and 8% gel on face. Does anyone have a product they love for the exfoliation process.
Thanks for any advice.

So What Happened?

I recently made 1/2 cup olive oil and 1/2 cup sea salt and tried it on my hands first. Worked great. I didn't have essential oil
to add as the recipe read. I liked it and the oil left behind was nice but don't want it in my bathtub to slip and slide. Next time I make a scrub, it will probably be a liquid soap mixed with sea salt. I only use the scrub once a week. The salt does not dissolve with the olive oil, even after a week. I am interested mostly in the daily exfoliation in lieu of a scrub so not to irritate the skin.

I dip into my cupboards for this sort of thing. Something oily, something acid, and something gritty.

avocado and sugar/ salt.
honey lemon and sugar
coffee grounds and olive oil

I haven't had any on hand in a longtime. I used to keep some in a glass jar in the tub. Leaves the tub slick, but hey, its gotta be scrubbed anyway.

Best,

An aesthetician in a dermatology office told me that baking soda with a touch of water to make it into a paste is a fantastic exfoliant. Believe me it doesn't take much water to make the paste. I keep baking soda in the shower in watertight Tupperware. I use it every on my face twice a week and on my knees and elbows as needed. You can use it however you want, even daily, it's safe enough. Just personal preference. I also use a clay mask to pull out impurities from my pores once a week after an exfoliation session.

I always loved Mary Kay masks. The older ones anyway. I used the formula one in winter and the formula 2 the rest of the year. My skin felt awesome and my pores were fine.

They've changed so much and are now just like everything else that I don't use the newer stuff. But many of my Mary Kay faithful friends say the new formula stuff is amazing. It's worth a try anyway.

I've heard people have had good results with salt / sugar scrubs.
They are easy to make and there are plenty of recipes online.
I exfoliate maybe once a week - every day is too much for me.
For feet - I love Milky Foot (chemical foot peel).

I like St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I've tried a ton of them and there are never enough little exfoliants to really get a good, deep scrub. This one has them, but it doesn't irritate my skin. Leaves it feeling soft and the pores feeling cleaned out.
