Oh no I forgot to move the elf! I know it's early to do this. What do I tell my son? I forgot a couple of times. Thank you

So What Happened?

Thank you I did not even think about the elf moving in the day. You all are great. (I just got the elf so I never thought to move him during the day) Thank you again.

He can move at any time so set up that expectation with your son. My daughter and sil in this last year and it added to the fun of wondering what the elf was going to do and when he was going to do it.

Ours has moved midday before. After a nap or they took a shower or something like that. Scribble a "sorry I'm late" note for a giggle for it to hold. It's an easy save :)

If your kid really calls you on it, write to santa for some magic dust to help give your elf some extra pep. We did this when someone accidentally touched our elf and our oldest feared the elf wouldn't move anymore.

I just say something along the lines that he must really like that spot because he can see everything going on.

The tradition of Elf on the Shelf is that he appears in your home on December first and magically goes back to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. Why is yours out already?

The real tradition that I have had for 16 yrs...Just asking you...
I have an elf that was handed down by a very, Irish Catholic tradition.

I personally hate this creepy little elf! But there is an awesome Facebook site called Elf on a Shelf Gone Bad - it's awesome.

Anyway, tell your little ones that he must have been tired from the weekend and is still sleeping (with his creepy little eyes open). :)
