I am not sure if I am in early menopose. I started my period when I was between 10 and 11 so I have been having them for about 25 years. My peroids have always come regularly. Sometimes a day or two early but that's it. A year and a half ago I had one overy removed because it had a very large cyst on it. About a year ago I had a time that I spotted for over a month straight then they where regular again. In full foce. (Very Heavey) Well this month my period did not come I am just spotting. I have issues with migraines and have for several years. So those are nothing new. Also when I had my youndest 9 years ago I had my tubes tied.

My quesion is how would I know if I am starting meopose? And what should I do? I don't think I will be able to take hormones since I could not take birth control and that's why I had my tubes tied. They make me very sick.

Thanks for any imput that you can give me.

What can I do next?

Some women do start menopause very early. Like 35 or even younger. I would go to the doctor. I believe there are blood tests they can run to determine whether you are starting menopause. Best wishes to you.

It is possible that you have started peri-menopause. I experienced early onset peri-menopause at 30. It usually lasts for about 10 years. I am 37 now and my estrogen levels are still normal-not menopausal.

Coincidentally, I also had problems with my ovaries and cysts. The doctor wanted to remove one of my ovaries when I was 14. My mom fought them on it, and they were able to remove the tumor (I believe it was originally a cyst that continued to evolve) from my ovary and keep the ovary. So I have had issues for most of my life.

I see a hormone specialist in Benbrook. She is also a naturalist and prescribes natural hormones. If I were you, I would schedule an appointment to get your blood work and see where your levels are. Either go to your own gynecologist or find someone else who makes you feel comfortable and listens to your symptoms and experiences. I go to Karen Birdy.

Progessence Plus by YoungLiving.com is an all natural progesterone supplement. I use 4 to 6 drops daily & it has completely regulated my cycles, helped with my anxiety/moods, & kept me from gaining weight. Totally changed my life! I highly recommend it!

You might be starting peri-menopause (a time when periods become much less regular) and it can go on for 10 or more years before periods stop completely.
Are you having my hot flashes and/or night sweats?
You are officially in menopause when you've gone a whole year without a period and the average age for that is around 55 yrs old but it varies a lot.

Go see your doctor. Something I learned just this weekend is when you start menopause the inside of your vagina will darken. Interesting, right? That is partially how doctors can tell, along with some other test they perform. Get a mirror and take a look.

I encourage you to see your Dr or Nurse Midwife and talk to them about your symptoms. They need to run some blood tests to determine your hormone levels, particularly LH, FSH, estrogen, progesterone, and thyroid panel. Nurse Midwife Mom of 3

If you have only 1 ovary it would be normal for your menstral cycle to only be every other month instead of every month. You may not be menapausal yet.

I have a neice who had a hernia as an infant and had to have an ovary removed. She only gets her period once everyother month. This may be the case for you. Check with your doctor or just wait and see if it comes next month if you have ruled out pregnancy.

I would really urge you to see your doctor about this. Maybe it's perimenopause, but you want to make sure there isn't some other problem. Also, if you were bleeding for a full month you could very well be anemic, which can also cause additional problems for you. I wouldn't try to self-diagnose this one.
Best wishes!! =o)
