My family has 3 dogs and 2 kids and after our Hoover vac broke down last week, we decided to "suck it up" and get a Dyson. My question is- which is better? the DC25 (with the ball) or the DC28 (more suction power and capacity)? Thanks for helping!

What can I do next?

We have the one with the ball, the model with the larger canister (one is smaller, but don't remember the model number), and we have been very pleased with it. We have felt it was worth the money spent.

I broke down a few months ago and bought a Dyson DC25Animal. I LOVE IT. It picks up dog hair (and dirt) like a champ! The day I got it, I vacuumed my carpet with my old vacuum cleaner and immediately vacuumed with the Dyson and was amazed at all the junk that it picked up. I've not used the DC28 so I can't compare the two of them. I chose the DC25 because I wanted the ball and I don't regret it.

I bought a dyson last year. It is out in storage and I am using a Eureka that I love. The dyson didn,t have the suction and the brush didn't "beat" the carpet. I would vaccum with the dyson and then with the Eureka and get an almost full canister of dirt and dog hair. Good Luck
