Does Anyone Think This Little Girl Looks like Lisa Irwin?

I know it's not likely and the hair's a little dark. But I guess I'm paranoid. I'm going to put the link in the what happened. This is an ad out today for someone looking for childcare in the area, not far from the Irwins.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

http://kansascity.craigslist.org/kid/2710932932.html

I work for an area fire-fighter. His wife said that some of the people on the force think it's possible that her remains were in the trash dumpster that they put the fire out in. Apparently, they didn't have any clue that they needed to look for anything. By the time she was reported the dumpster was at the land fill. Of course, everyone knows that. But what I wondered is if the fire could have been strong enough to destroy everything. Apparently, it really was that bad of a fire and though the police are following every lead, there's not a lot of hope.

I also know from the grapevine in these same circles, that mom was still so drunk that she still could not stand up at 4am when they reported her missing. I just don't understand why she has not been arrested for neglect. BUT I HOPE like heck she really was stolen and is alive.

Who knows, babies tend to look similar at that age. You never know, though.

I think that if it bothers you, then say something. It won't do any harm, and it may very well be her.

I can see the resemblance, but like others have said, she is at that age where a lot of kids look alike. Still you could call the tips hotline and mention it anonymously. Never hurts and what if it really is her? Elizabeth Smart was held hostage very close to her house for months in a wooded location and nobody even knew it.

She looks similar. There were stories swirling yesterday that someone was paid to take the baby?!?!? it just sucks.

To me...she does not. The eyes look very different. But then w/ babies it is hard to say. : /
But I cannot believe anyone would post that ad w/ the picture like that on CL.
Why don't people think?

Maybe a little. Proabably not. But you may not be able to live with yourself without reporting this. When we had the DC Sniper a few years back, I ended up writing down a phone number and calling a tip line. It freadked me out a little, but I couldn't live with myself for not doing it. There is no harm. All that will happen is that someone with more knowledge of the case will look at the same photo and either agree (meaning you did a good thing) or see that it is not her.

PS - I too am more appalled people would show their child on Craigs List and look for daycare that way and clearly be in such a hurry for day care too if they indeed found someone on CL. Ugh.

A lot of babies probably look like her.

I hope she is found alive, but I think the worst probably happened in this situation :(

I know this question is a bit old, but I had to respond to the people who said they would not find a childcare provider on Craigslist. Why not? You do the same screening you would do with any other applicant. We hired a nanny from an ad we placed there, and of course we did a background check and spoke with her references. We are doing care.com this time around, but I really don't think it is an issue to look for childcare on Craigslist. You just have to be smart about it. My 2 cents.

You never know. Not sure.
Why don't you send it, email it, call it in to the police anonymous tipline
to be sure.
Can't hurt.....especially with a picture.
Can't understand why someone would put their baby's picture on Craigslist. You don't need a photo for daycare so it's almost like she's
advertising.

Very hard to say. This woman posting an ad on craigslist for childcare freaks me out. A) I would never chose a childcare giver on craigslist. Maybe I'd buy some cheap used stuff, but not entrust someone to take care of my precious babies. Are. you. kidding. me.
B) I find it really creepy that she also posted a pic of her baby. Weird weird weird. Why post a pic, so someone can decide if your baby is cute enough to watch??

I don't really think this baby looks like her. I see her on the news everyday, and the eyes just don't look the same.
