It could definitely be dehyd. if he got very hot and didn't drink enough water. It could also be inner ear infection (same symptoms). Depending on what he did over the weekend, that may help you with his symptoms. Drink LOTS of water (Propel is wonderful).

Personally for me I wouldn't go to ER. ( I am not a doctor, nurse or MA)
If it were my kids I would require them to rest until tomorrow. I would push fluids - water, juices, gatorade , even popsicles and jello (they count as liquid according to the hospitals).
Now, if syptoms got worse, like rapid heart beat, chest pain, migraine, trouble breathing or worse, I would cal 911 or bring them to closest hospital.

We had the same problem with my daughter and she even fainted. Try giving him pedialyte to see if it removes his symptoms. Also, make an appointment with the pediatrician.

It could just be the heat. I get that way if I get overheated and I have to drink lots of water to cool down and rehydrate. I would try fluids and if he's still complaining tomorrow, call the doctor.

can you call your pediatrician and talk to the doctor on call?
