When we went to Disney World (Orlando) last year, we rented a condo/home that was only $75 a night and it had 4 bedrooms (2 of which had their own bathroom), a full kitchen, a game room, washer/dryer, our own pool and hot tub. The kitchen was good too because it allowed us to prepare our own meals for a lot less money than what we would have spent to eat in the parks. If you want, PM me, I can try to find out the contact information for you.

Disneyland or Disney World? I don't know about Disney World but Disneyland has a Marriott Suites nearby that has separate rooms, breakfast and shuttle.

I live 20 minutes from the parks and there are many places to stay outside them (condos or houses). The average price for a house rental (4 br 2 baths) is about $100 per night. Do a Google search and read all the reviews before deciding. Also the places that are listed west of the main gate (west Kissimmee) are newer and nicer than the east side.

Before we moved here we would stay at Caribe Cove Resort, they were brand new at that time and are still very nice.

You didn't mention which park--DisneyWorld in FL? Disneyland in CA? If you're headed to FL you can try Vacation Villas at Fantasy World. It's in Kissimmee, a short drive to the parks and has a shuttle. It has all the amentities you mentioned plus a whole lot more, like a wave pool and daily activities for the kids and entire family! We loved staying there. I hope you are planning to hit at least one of their water parks. Your kids will love Blizzard Beach! My daughter was 8 when we went and got on ALL the slides! It was an amazing day and favorite of all the parks. Enjoy!

Hi E.,

I have been to Disney World often (have season passes). We LOVE Disney. Christmas time is the BUSIEST time of the year there. I don't know if you're planning to actually go Christmas week or ? We went once Christmas week and it was so crowded that it felt like you couldn't move. Lines for rides were over an hour long.

It's beautifully decorated and the parades and activities are fun, but please know the crowds will be worse than in the summer. Please go see the gingerbread houses at the Grand Floridian. They are absolutely stunning. Not to be missed!

We have stayed on property as well as at houses nearby. Disney traditionally runs some great deals around Christmas. My friends went last year the second week of December and received the dining plan free (which is a substantial savings). I rented a house for my family and our pen pals from England who came in November for 8 days and it was around $1,000. You can find very reasonable rentals through www.vacationrentals.com Most properties will haggle with you on the price of their rental so don't be afraid to email them and say I can pay X instead or can you throw in pool heat for free.

If you want to PM me, please feel free to. I've been to Disney very, very often. I've been all times of the year as well. It's still my favorite place to take my family.

Have fun!
L.
