Try lemon juice in the extra rinse aid area. We use that as a rinse aid and it works. It's acidic and doesn't allow any metal deposits to settle on the dishes. Switch to a environmentally friendly detergent (without harmful phosphates). I know there are not many out there, but Costco now has their own, and Trader Joes has one. Then you don't have to worry so much about ingesting the deposited detergent and it won't harm the ground water. If you can find it use Lemishine mixed in with the detergent. I was given some by a friend and haven't been able to find it since. But that worked great. Good luck!

I would contact the company that made the soap (look on the package for contact info). They should have the best solution. Also, this is why I avoid using heat dry. If anything is left on your dishes it gets baked on. Good Luck!

Try the new ones that come in a bag, as little pillows. It costs a little more, but I had the same problem, and now the film is gone. I think the pillows contain some type of finishing rinse.

I have heard a strange remedy somewhere that you can clean a dishwasher with Tang. (Yeah, the orange drink mix!) Try looking that up to see what you can find on it..maybe you can run the dishes with it? Good luck!

It's not going to come off in the dishwasher at this point. As an earlier poster mentioned, hand wash with the vinegar (distilled white vinegar). Let them soak in it for a while, and you'll likely need to use a good scrubber and lots of elbow grease on as many of the items as you can. If your glass items have become etched, then there isn't really any help for them. But if they're just coated with the film they should be ok. I would be hesitant to use the CLR on anything plastic or teflon - glass and stainless would be fine, just be sure to rewash in clean soapy water. Try letting them soak in viniger water. Not run thru the washer, just soak for a bit. Then hand wash and air dry. The dishwasher just keeps rebaking the film into your dishes. If that does not work, try CLR. (I have never used that on dishes, but it may work)

You might try vinegar AND baking soda. Just put it in the bottom of the dishwasher and run it. Worth a try. Good luck!

Wash it through with vinegar. And don`t use that again. I couldn`t use them either.
