I would like to purchase a digital camera, but with all the choices available, I would like to obtain feedback on which one you like. I would like to find a camera that prints the date on the picture. Looking on spending less than $250.
Any recommendations?
Thank you!

Hi Elaine,

We bought our daughter a Sony Cybershot DSCW55 for Christmas this last year. It was on sale at Amazon right before Christmas for less than $150. It's a great little camera for the price. I even borrow it when I want something small and compact to slip in my purse.

Still pictures are pretty crisp. It's 7.2 Megapixel with a 3X zoom. There is a newer model out, the Sony Cybershot DSCW120 which now has a 4x zoom. Amazon lists it for $187.

If you want help researching a digital camera, I've used www.DPreview.com several times(bought 4 camera in the last 3 years) and it has invaluable information and reviews.

Hope this helps!

I know there are a ton of cameras to chose from. But one thing that I noticed is that you did not mention if your kids were in any sports. And the only specail feature you asked for was date & time stamp. I own the Cannon Powershot sx100. I hated it at first because it could do soooo many things. But as I have learned how to use it. I can take B/W, antique, continuous photos as well as many other kinds. One thing I did was go to Best Buy and played around with most of the cameras there. One feature I do like is the camera taking AA batteries. (last 2 digitals were specail sized and had to recharge) And mine also takes an SD card into most laptops take these now. Good Luck let us know what you chose!!!!!

I just bought a Canon PowerShot sd750 off of Amazon. It was under $200 with shipping and a 2GB memory card. It has 7.1 megapixels and is super compact. I love it!

HI Elaine, I got my camera from Wolf Camera. I love it. Right now they are having specails, where with any digital camera purchase you recieve a free package. With photo paper, a coupon for free prints, free cd, and free photo book. You can also get a free printer, but its a rebate thing. you pay for it, then they give you paperwork for the rebate. the one thing I LOVE is the protection plan they have for the cameras. You pay I think 30 some odd dollars for it, it covers everything. EVERYTHING, except lost or stolen. and something else. But if you drop it, break it, drown it. Take it back and they will fix it or give you another one. TOO AWESOME!!! I LOVE IT. ESPECIALLY WITH TWO BOYS. I had to get this plan!! So good luck talk to their specialists and they sure will help you out.

We have a Kodak Easyshare c663. We love it. Takes video too. Easy to use. And you can often get at the kodak outlet (online store and on ebay) refurbished for nothing.

I love Sony Cybershot. I'm going to buy a new one this summer (to replace the one I have that's 4-5 years old) and that's the brand I'm going to get. I'm hoping to find one that uses rechargeable AA or AAA batteries instead of the special lithium batteries. They are easier to charge and if I find myself in a situation with dead batteries, I can just put regular batteries in the camera instead of waiting for the others charge.

My whole family uses the Kodak Easy Share, (any model) and they're great! I absolutely love mine! There's an option on it to have the date or not so you can choose. They're great camera's! They just get better and better.
