I have an opportunity to purchase a Cricut Machine for a very good price. Not sure which one to choose. But, also would love to hear from some creative ladies out there... have you used yours for things other than scrapbooking? if so, what? I don't want to buy just for the great price. I want to know that I would use it..... so, ladies that have one... tell me what you love about it.....

Thanks!!

I use mine for scrapbooking some, but it is hard to get small pieces sometimes. I have used it to make greeting cards and they come out great. I also know people who have used them for party favors, invites, bulletin boards, etc.

Hi,

My daughter has a Cricut Expression machine which cut up to 12x24 inch projects and she really likes it. She makes everything from cards, home deco, etc. and she especially loves that she can use every font, dingbat etc. that is out there in the internet (free), since we bought the Make the cut software. That way you don't have to buy all the expencive cartridges all the time. That program is really great. I personally think about buying the sizzix eclips machine. I think it is better than the cricut since I have seen both machines in action. But the eclipe is not yet comatible with the Make the cut software, so I will wait a little bit longer.

I got the smaller Cricut when the machines first came out. I use it for card making, poster board signs for school projects, home decor, etc...

I just recently got the Cricut Expression which I love even more! It cuts images up to 2 feet.

The cartridges can be a bit pricey but I get mine off of www.ohmycrafts.com or ebay. They are very reasonable priced there.

I love it! My sister works for the sister company that makes the Cricut machine and so I got to play with a lot. Then my mom's work got one and they are all not technology savvy people so they had me teach them. I love it and hate it though. I love how easy it is, but I hate the price of the cartiages and the limit that the cartages make it. BUT if you aren't wanting to make your own fonts and cut outs then it's just fine. Oh and I've found decent deals on ebay for the different cartrages.
I used mine to make stencils for fabric letters that i applique to clothes and signs, scrapbooking, cards. I also know that there is a cake decorating one! How cool is that. I think the only difference between the two is the blade, but I still thought it was cool.

I got the Cricut Expression last Christmas. It's great. I liked this one over the other one because it cut sizes down to 1/4" as opposed to the smallest cut size being 1" (I think ) ont he other one. I have never used it for scrapbooking. I've made blocks for the holidays (better seen than trying to explain) I've made the decorations for my son's birthday party, and my daughter used it for a project. I do not feel I've gotten my money's worth out of it yet, but I have ideas in my head I'd like to do!

Love, love the Cricut!! I have access to one at work & It's great! I've used it for the school I work at making banners, signs, invitations & I love it. So easy to use & fast! I would love to buy one but geezzz it can get pricy so at work they let me use it for personal use & I love to scrapbook too so it's helpful when I need letters & decorations. If you have a good price for it then Im sure you can make use of it. You can make Valentine cards & tons of other things but I havn't explored too much yet...but so far I love it!!!

I LOVE my machine. I used it to make signs for church. I have used it for bulletin boards for school. I use it for my students geography projects, and of course for I have made stencils for painting. I have even made those beautiful letters that you can purchase for an insane amount of money that go over doorways in your house. I have made gift bags, cards/envelopes, christmas ornaments (school), maps (school) and calendars

I have a cricut expression. It cuts 12x18, but I usually just cut 12x12. If you plan of investing make sure to check out the website www.scrappingtable.com This progam allows you to connect your cricut to your laptop. Anything you can scan into your laptop you can cut, and more importantly any fonts on your computer become fonts you can also cut. It eliminate having to buy numerous cartridges. This is the one drawback of the machine. This program was quite reasonable and works very well. I have scan things in, then cut them.

I bought mine new and off of the TV. Only item I have ever done that with. I can honestly say I have gotten my money's worth.

Best Wishes,

S.
