Congestion/wheezing

A. i would definatley take him to the doctor cause the wheezing could be asthma or even phnemonia dont take any chances with that my son is an asthmatic.....

i would definitely take him to the doctor. especially being that this is RSV season. although there isn't really anything they can do to get rid or it--it just has to take it's course. it can lead to other complications.

Since your child is still so young, I would immediately take him to the pediatrician. Better safe than sorry!

I would suggest contacting his doctor or pharmacist for short term relief. But for long term...I work with a team that refers people to some AMAZING "green" products. Baby Vicks VapoRub, saline for his nose, a humidifier, and sleep elevated, either in his car seat or swing. You could also put a pillow under his mattress which worked for my kids. These are all things my pediatrician suggested when my kids were babies.

I AGREE with the first response-CALL THE PEDIATRICIAN. If you ever have a question always call the ped-they are there all hours all questions-is what my ped tells us. You should never guess. My son had RSV-which like the first said could be treated at home and recover as long as it is not let go and gets severe.Hope all is well and baby gets better soon. L. :)

Just to be on the safe side, I would call your pediatrician. When a baby starts wheezing in his lungs, it's a little bit more than a minor cold. He might have an allergy to something in the house.

Wheezing really warrants a call to the pediatrician. Hopefully it's just a run of the mill cold, but it could be something like RSV, which my twin infants both had (and recovered from with treatments at home). I don't mean to cause unnecessary worry, I know we mothers are good at doing that on our own. It's probably best to check things out with a doctor just to be sure. Good luck.

yes take the little guy to the doc but also watch for his breathing, if his tummy or chest labors to breathe take him right away to doc or emergency room.

Ack! If your pediatrician thinks he has a virus, why would she put him on antibiotics?? Antibiotics only work for bacterial infections and can cause all sorts of unintended consequences (for example, thrush and yeast infections). I would recommend trying the other recommended fixes (humidifier, Vicks) before resorting to antibiotics.
