It's definitely not spelled using an apostrophe. It's up to you whether or not you want to use the dash/hyphen. Two of my children have two first names, but we decided we didn't want to hyphenate their names. Best wishes!

It is not emma'rae
Unless you are inferring that it is a French name. If this were a French name, per their language, they would not put the accent that way.

The ' or ` accent, also has to be in the proper direction. (pointing left or right), And it accents, how a name is pronounced.
Thus you'd be saying emmAH-Rae. Not emmarae.

Emma Rae, are two words.
Without the apostrophe.

The purpose of an apostrophe is to replace a missing letter (don't for do not). For a name I would leave all punctuation marks out and just spell it Emma Rae.

So you want it to be one name, not a first and middle name? Then I say either way works.

It's your daughter's name, so spell it how you like. Personally, though, I think Emma'Rae looks weird and she'll spend her whole life explaining how to spell her name. A ' is used to indicate that letters are missing, ie the o in don't, so it doesn't make sense to me here.

I think you should keep it separate. If you make it one name its too much of a mouth full and most likely people will just call her Emma.

And how will she know she is in trouble when she's older if you start middle naming her already? ;)

I think separate names are your best option, or all as one name with no puncuation in between. Everything else is just confusing. Pretty name by the way. Emma has gotten so popular and adding the Rae makes it a little different.

Im thinking you want it as a first name only, not first and middle name? I think it doesnt matter which way you write it as people are going to make their own conclusions with it so go with the way you like best.

Ill give you an example, my nephews name is Johnpaul. Just one word, his middle name is Anthony. People assume its supposed to be two words a first and middle name but its not. His father is John Paul - first and middle name, but he was raised being called by both names, so thats what everyone calls him to this day, no one calls him just John. My sister had a hard time correcting her sons birth certificate and social security cards as they put a capital P for Paul and changed his name totally. So his first name was John and they had his middle name as Paul Anthony! It was a nightmare. Oh and my nephew hates it when people call him John, cause its not his name.

I would put it together as EmmaRae as one word if thats what you want to call her its nice. Good Luck

I like Emma Rae Rose! It's very pretty. Keep in mind most people are going to call her Emma. Not Emma Rae. But that's okay, Emma is a very pretty name.....my grand daughter is named Emma.

I wouldn't put the hyphen in, even if you plan to call her "Emma Rae" all the time. At some point in her life, perhaps when she is not a child, she may want to simply be called "Emma." Even if you leave the hyphen out, you can still choose to call her "Emma Rae." The hyphen simply makes "Emma-Rae" legally her first name, rather than a first and a middle name.

I would just spell it Emma Rae with a space or not, EmmaRae. I would just make sure on the birth certificate the E and R are capitalized. I don't know, maybe I'm a bit OCD, but it gives more emphasis to the letters
Pretty name by the way :)

EmmaRae Rose.
