Hey there,

I am wondering if you can get pregnant while you are on your period or light the day before your period starts... I had sex the day before My period and then started my period the next day....

Is there a way I could have gotten pregnant and still have a period?
This week I am due for my period, But still haven't started.........

What can I do next?

Technically, yes. BUT, it's very rare. Generaly, you'll ovulate in the middle of your cycle, but some women ovulate early or late. Most likely, something else is going on like stress or maybe your cycle is just off. If you're at the day of your period that's due, or if it's late, take a HPT to see if you are pregnant.

Yes, it's possible. Different people ovulate at different times (I was a day 23 in a 35 day cycle) which is why natural family planning is a very involved temperature taking, cervical mucus monitoring discipline.

Wait two weeks, buy a test - it's probably stress.

If you had a period, I would say no. Since your period would have flushed out the lining of your uterus, the uterus would not have a thick enough wall to allow for implantation. It is probably just stress that is delaying your period. If you don't get it for a week, take an HPT and/or go see your dr.

That is definitely NOT likely. You are only able to get pregnant a few days a month, when you are ovulating. This usually is in the middle of a cycle, approximately 2 weeks after the start of your cycle.

There is a small possibility, but I don't think so... It's all about when you ovulate, you only have 24 hours afterward, I read this article, so the chances we do get pregnant are hard actually. I don't know if you are trying to get pregnant or hoping you aren't. If you are trying you usually ovulate around your 14th day, you'll know when you have that mucus discharge, that's when I'd have sex to get pregnant and my sisters too.

Hi MT-

I would say the chances are very low that you would be pregnant. I'm sure it can happen anytime depending on your cycle..but chances are SO LOW if it isnt during ovulation time. Are you on Birth control? If not, you might want to try and get on some type of BC......your 21 and stated your single w/ a 3 year old. If your not married then having unprotected sex, another baby isnt what you need right now. If your going to have sex, please get on BC. Please know Im not trying to put you down. ( I've been with my husband since I was 17 and Im now 37)lived w/ him since I was 19 so I understand.I'm not a saint..... But, I was on BC(went to the Planned Parenthood at 17) and didnt have my 1st child until 24. But, I'm just concerned that if your not ready for another child then you need some type if protection so your not worrying about this right now.
