Hello Mommas, I am thinking of taking my three children to look at Christmas lights this year. Where is the best places to go? We live in the DFW area. I remember driving around and looking at Christmas lights when I was a child, and loving it, but sadly I have yet to pass on this tradition with my own children, and the oldest is almost 9...SIGH! Thanks for your help. God bless you all!

Depending on where about you live..There is a place thats called a Dimond Loch, its a ungated community and have a fantastic light show every year. Most times you can buy hot chocolate from one of the neighbors who sell it for 50c..We have been taling our little guy there since he was born (2005) now will be taking our new little addition (jan 2008)..
All the homes there have a light display..We really enjoy it.
Its off glenview drive Richland hills.

The Gaylord hotel has really neat lights. It is fun to just go and walk around looking at all the different things they have.

I highly recommend Interlochen in North Arlington off of I-30. You will not be disappointed! Just anicipate sitting through some traffic through the neighborhood. I am not sure when all the lights will be up and ready. Maybe wait another week or watch for it on the news.

I LOVE taking my kids to see Christmas lights, and do it every year, but this is our first Christmas in the Grand Prairie area, and we took our kids to see the Prairie Lights, and were GREATLY DISAPOINTED!! The town apparently is more interested in diversity than the reason for Christmas. Even if they didn't want to "offend" anyones beliefs they could have had just a bunch of Santa's and snowmen, although they had the jewish holiday and kwanzaa and how they celebrate those holidays, and by the end of our visit, we felt like we had just had a lesson in diversity, rather than enjoying Christmas lights. It's NOT worth the $20 a car, and the MORE money you pay to walk the lighted path, and the light show was a diverse joke!!!

Grand Prairie has a beautiful show called "Prairie Lights". The show boasts over 3 million lights! You can check out the website at www.prairielights.org. In addition to the lights, they have a place where the children can get out and walk around a carnival-like atmosphere. We enjoy the show every year.

Best of luck!

Prairie Lights Tour in Grand Prairie is the greatest. Also the Interlocken Tour on West Randoll Mill in Arlington. I am sure there are others.
