We do not have a church home and continue to seek a good fit. I love to sing and sang in the choir as a child. Do you know of a great church with a choir that I could sing in in the area? Recommendations welcome.

What can I do next?

If you're looking for a formal choir atmosphere with all the bells and whistles (big holiday productions, bell-ringing troupe, occasional horn accompanyment, three fabulous organs, a full-time staff cantor, etc.), then check out St. Martin's Lutheran Church in downtown Austin, http://saintmartins.org/mus_Choir.html. There's also a smaller ensemble that plays and sings at the weekly contemporary service.

What are you looking for? Contemporary, traditional?

We attend church in Georgetown... we've been with this church for 20 years, now... it is First United Methodist in Georgetown. I've been a member of the choir for that long, also, and we are always looking for new choir members!

Our church has a great programs for the youth, starting with the Sunday School and summer programs, and a youth group for 6th grade on up.

We have 3 serevices... two traditional services (8:30 and 11 am), and a contemporary service with a praise band at 11, also. Sunday School is about 9:45 am, and we have classes for all ages.

Royalwood Pentecostal Church

Check out the services live on Sundays,10 AM and 6 PM on Royalwood.cc.

Our choir won first place for this region in Verizon's How Sweet the Sound search for the best gospel choir in America.
We moved here 5 years ago with the intention to visit a few churches before we decided on one. Needless to say after one service we never went any where else and love it here. You will too!

You might consider participation in a community choir. I don't know where you are exactly, but there are chapters of the Gospel Music Workshop of America located all over the country and they meet frequently and would provide an excellent opportunity for you to exercise your passion for sining now and after you've been able to find a church to call home. Google "GMWA" and do a search for chapters to find one near you.
