It is a great facility. There is so much for kids to to do. There is huge general playroom with a pretend town and a treehouse and all kinds of toys. They also have an art room and a computer room. I would encourage you to check it out. My daughter is 16 months old and she loves it.

I have a special needs child and was told that it would be great to take him there. I found it dirty and underfunded. I think it could be a good thing, IF the funds were there.
I didn't care for it.
I recommend the Children's Museum on the North Shore. My son LOVES it. We always have a good time. Your child is the right age to introduce it to.

I assume you are talking about the Center for Creative Play on Braddock Avenue. I disagree with the mom who told you "NO!" I have always found it a great place to take my kids. I don't understand her opinion that it was dirty. I usually find it very clean. Yes, toys are all over the place. The staff periodically goes through and cleans it up during the day but you have young children playing all day so there is never going to be a time during the day when everything is completely put away. They have bins for any toys that have been mouthed by small children so that the toys can be cleaned before anyone else uses them. They have an art room, a computer room, a quiet room, a two story playhouse, a treehouse, a pretend doctor's office, a pretend store, many ride on toys, a huge space to enjoy the play area, a train table, a snack counter, and much more. They have bathrooms that are the perfect size for small potty training children and adult size bathrooms as well. They also have two family bathrooms with changing tables and a small and large toilet in each. We just recently let our yearly membership lapse but it is a wonderful place to take a child to play. The staff do NOT watch your children for you and there are different levels of toys at the Center so you would, of course, need to watch your toddler. However, I heartily recommend it. I believe it is worth the money. Although I think the children's museum is also a wonderful place to take a child, I really think most parents would be pleased with the Center for Creative Play.

I took my son to the public Library twice a week when he was that age for story time. He really enjoyed being arond the other kids. It took him some time to sit and actually listen to the stories but it was good for him just being there. They also have color time after the stories. I took him for several years and by doing so not only has he met lasting friendships but I did as well. It was very educational nd socially developing for him.

That is a great place. Defiently worth it. I use to take my daughter there everyday after preschool for 2yr. She is now in first grade but has younger cousins i take there with her and she still enjoys it. It a great place for kids and you can spend alot of time there. Its not alot of money... If i remember right its about $5 each person. Exspecialy your baby will enjoy it. They can go run wild and play with a sort of great things. Honestly try it out, you will enjoy it. I find at times it is messy but cause of all the children playing with all the toys. Othere then that it is clean.Just alot of toys.

my son has been going since he was 4 and just recently grew out ogf it around 6 when he became interested in computers and video games. They do have computers there but my intention was to have him interact with other children not continue with his isolation. Anyway loved the center for creative play and utilized it for as lonfg as they could. They also have respite called "Our Time" were you can drop them off at a certain time and pick them up later just provide dinner LOVED IT
