The dealership quote to have the water pump and a belt replaced seemed astronomical. We are wondering if you mommas have any suggestions on car repair places that are fair and do good work. We woulld like somewhere in the south part of Tarrant County. Thanks for any suggestions!

Sunrise automotive on 303 (pioneer) in arlington. It's a little bit north, but the guy has been in business for a long time. He charged us a fair rate for what we needed and he came highly recommended by a dealership mechanic to us.

I also know a shade tree mechanic that doesn't have a shop but would be cheaper. You would buy the parts yourself and just pay him labor. If you need his number let me know.

Try Firestone Auto in Mansfield. Also call Lone Star Automotive. Both are good and seem (to me) to be resonable. Firestone is on the 287 access Rd. across from Target and Lone Star is on 917.

McGaw Brothers at Arkansas and Roosevelt in Arlington. They're very good, fairly quick, honest, and reasonably priced.

Matt's ____@____.com's a little on the odd side, but a nice guy. He lives behind Arl. Memorial and his shop is behind his house. His prices are more than fair. He charges by the job instead of the high hourly rate others do. I work in the auto business and am surrounded by mechanics that I could use and don't.
