Can anyone recommend a campsite (tent) in this area? I found some in Grapevine, anyone ever tried one of them?

Thanks, I.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Boy, are we glad we decided not to go camping this weekend! Can't imagine being in a tent with the hail and storm.
Thanks everyone for the tips. We've been to Eisenhower before, and like to try something closer to home because we have to come back for the soccer game of our oldest on Saturday.
And Tracy, kids are never too young to go camping in a tent, we took them camping while I was 8 months pregnant and while they were baby's. Camping is one of the best family times together!
Thanks again for the tips.

I.

I agree, the Vineyards in Grapevine is nice and Dinosaur State Park in Glen Rose is great too. Your kids are kind of young, so if they haven't been camping at all I'd start in Grapevine and then do Glen Rose. Then move on to some of the other great places mentioned.

I have been to Grapevine lake quite a few times and their site are really nice. They don't have electric or any thing like that but they are farely secluded and big.

Good Luck,

I haven't camped there but used to hike a lot at Joe Pool Lake. One of my trails took me through the campsites and they looked pretty nice. Seemed very well kept and had great paths.
If you want to go a little further, Mineral Wells has some nice spots as well as Lake Murray in Ardmore, OK and Lake Texoma (either side). Happy camping!!!
