Hi Moms,
Does anyone know of a nice cozy cabin or cottage rental for two people near a lake? I'd love to find a great place no more than
about 3 hours from Mckinney. I really appreciate any advice you have.

Beavers Bend Oklahoma is just about a 3 hour drive from Plano and it is beautiful! We go there several times a year and have always loved it. Check out these 2 cabins. We have stayed in both and they were wonderful.

P.,
As mentioned, Beaver's Bend and Broken Bow are great.
Lake Whitney is also very nice.

We just went to Broken Bow Lake in Oklahoma last weekend! I echo the previous poster - SO convenient! We rented the Whispering Woods cabin and our friends were at Rendezvous, which was really close. Not hard-core camping - they had jacuzzi tub, full kitchen, AC unit, grill, even had wood in the firepit for us! Walmart is about 20 minutes away, which worked for us because we all had little kids. The lake is full of fishing, swimming, and boating activities. I think you can go from basic to luxury in terms of cabins, but this was where we place was very affordable. http://www.beaversbendlodging.com/

We rented a house on Lake Tawakoni. It's a little over an hour drive from McKinney. We also rented jet skis. We had our own private dock, and had a really great time!
