I saw your update, but just wanted to let you know you are not alone. I'm 33 1/2 wks with my second. I have been having atleast 15-20 braxton hicks a day, some pretty mild, others uncomfortable - and nothing I do seems to make a difference. I've had this for a few weeks atleast. OB finally checked me last week after my nonstress test (1 contraction but lots of "irritability" noted on that) and I've had no cervical change and baby is still up high. I have no history of preterm labor so she said I should be good, but to call if I am having stronger and more frequent ones. This actually didn't happen with my first son until about 2-3 days before I went into labor, but this has been going on so long with this one and no sign of preterm labor, I think we're safe :) Good luck and congrats on your little one!

How strong are the contractions? and are they becoming more frequent? You may want to call your OB or go in to see them. Most BHC you don't really feel much and there shouldn't be any pain associated. Better to be safe and check with a Dr. Good luck

I just had my 2nd baby 4 weeks ago and I had Braxton-Hicks all the time (but not with my first preg). You will feel them more if you haven't drank enough water or have been doing too much. My Dr. said to sit down, take it easy and drink alot of water. It always helped with me (I have a tendency to overdo things). Also, real contractions feel different... you will feel them higher up on your belly (BH you feel lower in the abs) and the pain radiates through to your back. That is how my dr. described the difference to me.

I started Hicks at 3 months for my 1st child. They sucked and lasted throughout.

Hey there, I'm 31 weeks and yesterday I had contractions for almost 2 hours! I called my doc and he said they were definately contractions but I was going through false labor, he never mentioned that they were Braxton Hicks, and I was really in pain! Today I woke up sore, and I've felt two B.H.C already, now I know the difference. They really don't hurt, you just feel your tummy tighten up and release. Fetal movement is definately increasing as well. Take it easy, put your feet up, drink plenty of water and have bananas, the potassium in them helps with the cramping pains.Good luck! :)

I had braxton hicks with all three of pregnancies from around the 16th, 17th week...went full term with two of those pregnancies and the one I didn't had nothing to do with braxton hicks and everything to do with preeclampsia! It's totally normal just pay attention for other changes and changes in what your new "normal" is...good luck!
