Book Review Website

Does anyone know of a website that gives the 'down low' on book content?

My daughter checked a bunch of books out of the library and I would like a little more detail than the book jacket gives without having to read each book before okaying it. I know there are such websites for movies but thought there was one for books as well.

TIA!

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone. I am looking for something like commonsensemedia.org that has a larger database of reviews. commonsensemedia.org has exactly the information I'm looking for but the number of books they've reviewed is too limited and does not have a lot of the books she picked out.

Try www.goodreads.com

They have a searchable database for books, and the results include the publisher synopsis, user ratings, and user reviews of the books.

It's a great site for those who are in to reading, and it should help you with what you are looking for.

Amazon. Reader's reviews.
Wikipedia will usually give a synopsis and character summaries.
Bookrags.com

I use, and love goodreads.com! They give a synopsis, but also reader reviews. :)
