Blood in Semen (Sorry)

So, last night we discovered blood in my husbands semen. Its not bloody, just a tint of blood color, like faint pink.
Of course I WedMD'ed it (stupid) and it said it is usually not a cause for major concern for men under 40. He will be 30 in a couple months.
Clearly, he needs to go to the doctor, but you know how men are, it wont be easy for me to get him there.
Just curious if anyone has experienced this and may know what it could be.
Worried.... :(

What can I do next?

Has he had a lot of cinnamon lately. My husband was using a lot of cinnamon (a lot!) in his coffee, it has some health benefit, I don't remember what...and he had blood in his semen. He too googled and found that cinnamon was probably the culprit. He cut way back and it never happened again.

Yes, get him to the doctor. I don't doubt that you are worried. Ignore what's online and just get him looked at.

I would take a semen sample (sorry) with you to the doc for lab testing. Go pick up a cup the day before your appointment and have him do it in the morning. Tell them why you want the cup.

Good luck!

Just a heads up...there may be some requirements for a semen test at a lab such as cannot be collected in a condom, can't be more than 24 hours old and keeping it at body temperature so that means he gives it at the lab/office or collects it and delivers it within 30 minutes. Tell him he needs to go to the physician!

Is he having any other symptoms? If he is...like fever, pain or lumps etc...then call asap. I don't know if I would run right to the doctor without any other symptoms...however if you notice it again, definitely worth following up with the family physician or urologist. :)

This is something that requires the attention and expertise of either his primary care physician or a urologist.

PCPs or Uros deal with this sort of thing all the time. It is not unusual to look at or examine this, so he won't be any different than any other man who walks through the door.

Strongly encourage him to go. Make an appointment for him if he won't do it himself.

Molly:

I'm sorry - I know it's scary. My ex-husband had this after his vasectomy.

however, since your husband hasn't one - I would get him to a Dr and have him checked out. I know that seminal fluid must be FRESH (no more than 24 hours old) and cannot be ejaculated into a condom but must be in a sanitzed cup.

I would tell him that he needs to get his little guy checked out so it won't stop working. He doesn't want it to stop working, does he?

Molly,

JessinTexas might be right also. It might be your blood, especially if it was rigorous intercourse.(sorry for the graphic description). But get him checked out.
