I used Yasmin for a while too, and it was great. I'm currently on Ortho Novum, which is a generic similar to yasmin. I however just went to the dr Friday for my annual and asked about the Nuvaring (tired of the pill). She said that many of her patients using Nuvaring have been really happy with it. She gave me some samples, so I will try using it after my cycle. You put it in for 3 wks (21 days), and take it out for the last week (when you would have your period). On the next Sunday, you insert a new one. So its only something you have to do once a month! Not sure of the cost yet though, since I got samples and haven't filled a prescription.

I have the Paraguard (Copper T) IUD. My doctor put it in, it was covered by insurance and there is not a monthly fee because it is just "in there". I can keep it in for 10 years. The only side effect I have experienced is a slightly heavier than normal period.

Good luck!

I take Yasmin as well...no side effects for me and I have reacted to a few of the others...it is not cheap though...it tends to be on the upper end of a copay and without insurance I pay $55/month. It is suppose to be going generic soon so that is why I am continuing to take it....

I use LoEstrin 24. You have shorter periods with it as well and it's lower in hormones.
I'm not sure how much they cost because my OB always gave me the sample packs. Maybe you can ask your OB for some sample packs before spending the money on anything.
Good luck in whatever you choose.

I took Yasmin for over a year and I really liked it although it took several months to adjust to it, at the beginning I always felt nauseated. I have been on Yaz for the past month and I haven't had any side effects. My husband's insurance pays a lot of it, so we only pay a couple of bucks when we pick it up.
