We have already had to run and buy more candy! How are you all making out?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I'm amazed - this is the busiest year we've ever had. Many years I have lots of left-over candy (that I SURE don't need). It's been rainy here today too.

Well...it was rainy & cold here.
In spite of doubling and tripling the treats, we've got a bunch of stuff leftover.
Disappointing 2011 for Halloween.

Weve had maybe 100 kids so far. We usually count and keep track just for fun, but this time we didnt. I bought 4 bags of fun size candys, and when its gone, its gone and we turn off the light. Its just after 8 now and I think we have about 1/4 left. Im giving out 1 piece per kid. I thought it was pushy/rude when both parents came to the door with a toddler in a stroller, and when I held out the candy for his little bag, they then held out their own bags for more. And 1 M. with 3 kids, after I gave the kids each a piece , she held out a bag too, so I dropped one in and she said, can I have 2, theres a kid in a stroller,, and I looked up and it was maybe a 2 month old out near the street with the dad. Pretty pushy and rude if you ask me. I want to see them feed that snicker bar to the baby.

We didn't get any.... that has been pretty much the norm for the last several years. We're on the outside street (on a fairly busy street) of a small development, no sidewalks or curbs, and a bit of a distance between houses, and only one side of the street has houses.

I put out a jack-o-lantern, turned on the porch light, and ate the candy......

We did trunk or treat at the church last night. We were the cupcake/cookie decorating station. Our youth director said there were over 500 people there.
The night before my daughters were part of the high school's Harvest Fest where the HS kids have trick or treat and games at the classrooms for the little ones who have no neighborhoods.
Our closest neighbors are about 1/2 mile away so we don't get any trick-or-treaters here.

We have several kids in our neighborhood, but it is also a more desirable trick-or-treating location, so we had a lot of vans and cars come in full of kids that we knew must have been from elsewhere - but I don't care. If where they live isn't so safe and they want to come here, I'm fine with that. I actually started out with a ton of candy and I'm surprised how much of it we ended up giving out - there's only a few pieces left and trick-or-treating is over for the night!

The count stands at three. There's still snow on the ground and power outages in surrounding neighborhoods, but still... three!?

We had 15-20 kids, a better turnout than last year. We actually had one group of 2 kids and 2 parents, and after we gave the kids some candy, BOTH parents came up behind them and asked if they could have a handful of candy too. So, 15-20 kids, 2 parents.

We never get very many, and we live in a big residential area. I think we usually get around 40, while my parents who live in a small town get close to 300 every year. BTW, and we give hand fulls of good candy bars.

We were the ONLY trick-or-treaters on my parent's block - we do one time around the block. My dad stayed home and said he got no knocks on his door. All doors we knocked on said we were the only ones they'd seen all night. Apparently all the kids go to the HOA Halloween Party. Oh well. I think some people were very generous with their candy giving towards the end of the night.

Terribly disappointed:( I only had 37 kids--and 6 of those kids were come back kids because they liked what I was giving out, so they came back for seconds! I have tons of leftovers:(

Our neighbor hood failed. There were more lights out than on. Very sad really. There were a few tricker treaters especially at our door as we were one of the few that actually had our light on.
