There is no harm in getting the circumcision done......I have 2 boys that are cut and 2 more on the way that will be cut. My husband is un-cut. The only part the babies feel is the numbing injection, they feel nothing else and most don't even let out a whimper. The whole process takes 10min max.
I feel it is cleaner and as sad as it is when he gets older there won't be teasing in the locker room.

It is a hard decision but whichever way you go will be the right way.

My vote- leave him natural. I have a boy, and Hubby & I opted for NO circumcision. I did not want my little boy going through that pain... it is Medieval torture chamber stuff. No thanks.
Hubby is natural as well...and has had NO problems whatsoever all his life. It's not a problem....boys just have to be taught hygiene and how to clean themselves. No biggie. For little girls, we teach them to "wipe" from front to back and never from back to front to avoid infections & it's part of "girl" hygiene. Well, boys have their own hygiene routines to learn too. It's not difficult. So many boys are natural nowadays, I think it's just common. Circumcision nowadays seems to be more "cosmetic" than anything, or for religious reasons or done out of fear & wanting to be like everyone else kind of thing.
Regardless, it is a personal decision, but make SUPER sure that whatever decision you make, you are set on it. (they say a baby does not feel pain when it is done... but I totally disagree. These opinions are just put forth to promote the procedure. A baby will shriek, and scream, and cry and be terrified when it is being done. Yes, it hurts). One mom told me that after she had gone through the experience of having her son circumcised, she felt profoundly hurt in her heart for the pain she put her son through and regretted it. With her other son, she did not repeat the process.
Well, best of luck in coming to a decision. A baby is born as they should be.
Congratulations on your baby boy! :)

My 2 boys are men of the world :) Intact...why continue this gross act based on some wwi infection fipp,

It is only in Dated Thinking America with out is considered more beautiful :) unless heritage has a role ( jewish)

Save your son the pain of tering, and the trip to the drug store for lube :)

Teach him how to clean the fore skin, pull it back and wash like everything else with soap and water. Offer him an adult circumsision...My Boys love their program and are not interested in cosmetic surgery to please the narrow minded.

hubby's not circed, but son is. the major issue would be keeping the head/skin around the head clean. this would be something that your husband would need to be willing to do as he grows up. i let my husband make the decision and he circed our boy.

I opted to circumcise my son (now 4 months old) when he was born for health and religious reasons, but it is a choice you have to make on your own. Here is a website that has some good information on circumcision including pros and cons: http://www.kidshealth.org/parent/system/surgical/circumci.... I hope this helps.

My Grandson was NOT circumcised, for a few reasons. He was born with complications, and an infection, and had to stay in the hospital for a few weeks. It was the recomendation of the DR. (Not) to do it at that time, for fear of more problems, and he said that They had done more studies,as far as the (pain experienced during this proceure,so that the parents may want to give it some thought. They didn't have to give it much.He is now a teen, and has never had any medical problems, nor social problems,as a result of their choice. The best to you and your new Baby.

My son did not have a circumcision....and yes there is really no medical reason..it stems from a religious belief..as long as you keep the area clean there should be no problem. Seems like you have a good pediatrician...such a rarity these days.
My son is almost 4.

Honey first let me say that you are / will be his mama and you can't do anything wrong if you're doing it out of love and you are researching the topic. That said, I would GOOGLE the topic and watch some of those video clips on circumcisions. It isn't easy to watch. If you feel it is necessary after that then that is your decision.

My twin sons are not circumcised. They are about that age where the skin is started to retract or be pulled back by them. Our pedi even suggested to start putting ointment on it but NOT to pull it back or force it to move back. One of my little fellas has been looking at himself and he pulled it back himself...nothing happened and he is fine. Now I help him understand to keep it clean.

I would talk to family and see what others did. Some say that my sons will feel odd being the 'only' two not circumcised in their gym class. Hmm, I don't know about that. I know plenty of mamas who did not circumcise.

I believe it does hurt. I believe it isn't medically necessary but if the little boy grows up to be an unclean man then he will have problems later and most likely cause problems for his female partner/girlfriend/ wife.

Good luck and don't worry too much.

(now if you want to discuss vaccines for your son well I have plenty to say about that.)

I don't have any boys--so I'm not pro or con.

But I'll pass this on for whatever it's worth--a European mom in our PTSA at school told me that her 12-year-old had to be circumcised (at the age of 12) because he developed a bad infection. The pain at 12-years-old was far worse than he would have felt as an infant. She said it was the hardest thing to watch him go through at that age. It's interesting that in some cultures they say the 8th day of birth is the best day for circumcision, and that seems to be borne out by developmental issues too. Less pain, quicker healing. If you're going to do it, that is. My religion doesn't require it, but I only became interested in the issue because of the mom at school--to be honest, I'm glad I only have girls and haven't had to deal with it! :)

Hi B.-
I have a 13 month old son... I wished I DIDN'T! There is NO reason other than social or religious! Trust your inner voice!

Good luck!
