Anyone Watch Dance Moms Last Night??

Nope! Saw the promo for this show, and as a dance teacher myself, it made my skin crawl. I think these "dance moms" are trying so hard to re-live their own youth through their daughters, and they want fame and fortune - something they didn't get. It's a major turn-off. Let your kids be kids, and do what THEY like to do, not what the parent would have liked to do when they were that age. All of these silly reality shows are so over the top!

I saw the beginning - less than 3 minutes worth - and when the instructor left one little girl out, I turned it off. I thought it was AWFUL!!!
This is one show that I won't be watching. My daughter danced and her instructor included everyone in every production - we did full length classical ballets. No one was EVER left out.

I watched it and I was wondering the same thing. Why didn't the parents speak up in the practice that the outfits were inappropriate ? And that the dance was right also ? My daughter would have been pulled out of that dance studio. The instructor seems to feel that she overrides the parents and that is WRONG.

That dance and those costumes were completely inappropriate and I would not have let my daughter wear that or do that dance. I'm not super crazy about all the hip-hop/suggestive/stripper like dancing most young kids do these days anyway. I LOVE that the director said to the Mom - go ask your 9 year old if she likes what she's wearing and how she's dancing. Yes, that's a great idea - let's leave all the decisions up to our kids. Great!

I saw part of one last week. I don't understand how a dance instructor can be SO overweight and be effective? She seemed to be a miserable person to deal with.

I won't give TV shows that I think are just wrong any credit...I won't watch them - waste my time or anything like that - just like Toddlers and Tiara's - I think the show and the premise is SOOOO FRICKING WRONG - on SOOO many levels....

For me? this show is like the people who feel they are going to get their 15 minutes of fame....that's all it is - hyped up drama for their 15 minutes of fame...sucks...shameful and down-right wrong.

Ive never even heard of it. I'll look it up and see what its about.
