Anyone Been to Sandy Lake Park Lately?

We were thinking of taking our two boys to Sandy Lake Park in the next few weeks. It has been many years since I have been out there (like when I was in the 6th grade...) so I have no idea what it is like now. I did browse their website and it looks like a neat place to go for a day's fun. If you have been recently, what did you think? Would it entertain kids (ages 5 and 8) for a few hours? I see a lot of the activites are priced by 'tickets' kind of like at the state fair - I'm sure that adds up quickly. Was it worth the trip out there? Thank you!!

What can I do next?

We went about 2 weeks ago. Won some admission tickets at an auction. The train was fun for my boys (7 & 4) and some of the rides. It is sparsely staffed, so you have to wait to ride some of the rides. Ticket are 50 cents each and most rides take 4-5 tickets a person. Bring a lunch since there are tons of picnic tables. It was a good activity for an hour or two and not crowded at all during the weekeday mornings.

Gosh, I haven't been since elementary school in the 1980's! If you go please post a follow-up note letting us know how it is. I have these vague memories and wondered if it's still the same.

I went with my daughter on a band field trip and it honestly had not changed much since I was a kid. It was very nostalgic for me. It seemed to be well maintained and I thought the rides were affordable. My daughter (11) and her friends had a blast after their band contest was finished. I think you won't regret going for a day.

It hasn't changed much honestly since I went 20 years ago. I took my kids last summer and it was fun. They also have a pool. If possible go during the week or early morning. It gets pretty crowded. You do have to buy a ticket book but theirs not too many rides to go to crazy.
Have fun!

PS. Have you hear of fruits and veggies in a capsule.

Hello, I took my boys (ages 7 and 4) on Memorial Day, and they had a blast on the rides and they rode the train.. Even my sixteen year daughter had a good time riding the rides. We also did the paddle boats and that was fun! Next time we go we plan on going swimming.. It is defintely worth it for the price.

Sandy Lake is nice, but costly! I was there a year ago on a school field trip and enjoyed walking around. The problem with Sandy Lake is that each ride requires a certain number of tickets, which can add up quickly with multiple children. Plus, if your children are like mine then they will want to ride certain things over and over! Personally, I think it's cheaper to go to Six Flags! Anyway, this is my opinion and they may have changed some things!
