Hello ladies, so me and hubby have decided to take a 4-day cruise from galveston to cozmel in August. ( if i can get over my fear of leaving my kids lol they have never stayed with anyone before 2yr old and 6mth old) I have been on 2 carnival cruises in the past but its been several yrs and honestly i didnt pay for it and I remember the sign and sail card bill being about as much as the cruise itself lol but my ex was a heavy drinker. What was ya's average bill on your sign and sail at the end of the cruise? We honestly wont purchase anything but 6-10 drinks a day(combined) and thats about it. This will be our honeymoon we didnt get one 3 yrs ago lol and we will prolly sleep the entire time.. Thanks in advance
K.

So What Happened?

Thanks ladies yeah I won't have but maybe 1-2 drinks a day and I told hubby he needed to keep it about the same. I think $500 for the 4 days should be more then enough but I will have back up money just in case I'm just not gonna let hubby know that lol. Well I should be good to go as long as I can leave my little ones ugh makes me sick to my stomach thinking about being away from them for 4 days.

Don't forget the fees for housekeeping/dinner service. That is all automatically added although you can adjust but if you take advantage of the services, you should tip.
10 drinks a day is probably $100 (alcohol anyways) and then if you actually want to do an excursion-it's extra.
Don't get me wrong-I love cruises-the extras add up though.

Have fun!!!!

The average drink runs about $5. We went in May of this year but we didn't drink my son did the bubbles card so he could have coke,(that runs about $6 a day) you are allowed to bring one bottle of wine to help and a 12 pack each of coke. But we prepaid everything we could.

K.,
We will be going on a carnival cruise as well leaving from Galveston. The last one we took was 3 years ago without any kids that time.I dont remember how much our sail and sign account was then, but I looked it up on the website, and for a 6 to 9 day cruise it suggested a $200 deposit on your account for a cash account, I think it was about $100 for a shorter cruise. The drinks are pretty expensive. There is also an option to purchace a coke card, which does not include liquer at all, but is used for soft drinks, juice, etc. Also, you will want to be aware that they will add gratuity to your account, and the staff does such a great job, I have no problem with them doing that, but last time we did not have much money and were not expecting this. You can go to the main desk and change it to the amount you are able to give on the last day of the cruise if you need to. You can also pay for the gratuity before you even go on your cruise. I hope this helps, enjoy your cruise!

My cabin charge was just for the room stewards. I think it was $10 per day. The soft drinks we bought were on the soft drink card and cost us $6 per day.

If we were going on your cruise we would have a check out bill of less than $60.

Hope you have a wonderful time on your honeymoon.

we actually just did that cruise in april... it was a quick get away for us and another couple. i think our sign and sail was $250, but i think we each had one or two drinks the entire time, spent about $30 total on souvenirs for the kids onboard, and bought a few pics - not sure what else - i'd hate to see a bill with 10 drinks a day(but, we intentionally didn't drink much for that reason, i'd rather not pay $15 + 20% gratuity, i can do without it)! we prepaid our excursion(paradise isle i think it was -i would HIGHLY recommend it, free drinks and food there as well!) and our tips - so that doesn't figure into the $250.

if you do an excursion, 10 drinks a day, get a few pics, and tips - i'd say plan on $800-$1000 for your sign and sail, prob closer to the $1000.

What type of drinks? Soda is probably $2-$4 a pop, alcoholic drinks are probably $5-$10. Why don't you check out their website? I'm sure there's a number you can call or a price list maybe. Have fun!

You'll need to check with the cruise line because there will be more charges than what you drink each day. There are usually "per day" charges, incidentals, port taxes, fuel surcharges, etc. Also, remember that any off-shore activities are going to cost too. That's where they "get you" on the great price for the cruise. Check carefully before you book and look into other cruise lines. We've had good luck with Princess Cruise Line and Norwegian. We've done several cruises, and we like to think we are "thrifty", and the lest amount we've had was around $800 for a short cruise. Have fun and enjoy yourselves.
