Ants! - Keller,TX

This may take a while, but if you follow them back to where they are coming from, i.e. a crack in the floorboard, or at window, and put a few drops of white glue (Elmers' etc) in that place, it will block their entry point. They may try find other ways in, but eventually they'll give up. I have had great success with this both inside and outside the house. The glue dries clear, so it won't show unless someone is really trying to find it. Good luck! N.

Try sprinkling some coffee grounds in the corners where you're seeing ants and on the outside of your house where you think they're getting in. It's also not a bad idea to sprinkle some around the entire perimiter of your house (if you don't drink that much coffee, try going to Starbucks and asking for their used coffee grounds...they may look at you funny, but if you explain what it's for, they'll probably be more than happy to give them up). I've tried this, and it really works.

Carpenter ants will eat your wood so might consider a professional for that. Our guy uses botanical products that I feel safe using around my son, it has a natural minty smell. It's kinda nice.

I don't know if it's safe for her, but it is natural... Borax. Which you can buy on the laundry isle. Also, spraying outside your house is a good idea too if she's not crawling in the grass.

Sprinkling nutmeg also works.

baking soda has always been what I've used for ants when camping - we create circles around all wheels to form a barrier that ants wouldn't cross. You'll need to determine where they are coming from and work on that, and I do know the only way to "cure" an ant problem is to destroy the queen (which sounds so dramatic)...here's a website with non-toxic solutions to ant problems - maybe one of these will work. I had them in a bathroom and I purchased a product called Orange Guard. The active ingredient is orange peel extract. I sprayed it all over the counter top and around the window...I even went outside and sprayed everywhere I thought they might get in. I had to do this a couple of times and so far so good. It has been several weeks since we have seen any. It says safe to use around pets and children. I got it at Calloway's nursery. Good luck!
