The Depo shot REALLY messes up your hormones, and sometimes they don't go back to normal on their own.

When you go to the DR for your preg test, if you are not pregnant, you could ask if he/she could give you something that would bring on your period, or maybe go on the pill for about 3 months, until your cycle becomes regular again.

Best wishes.

I'm on Depo too..no periods (WhooHoo!) I had Norplant for 10 years and got off of it June of 2005. Got my first period in August 05 and got on Depo. Had a slight period in Sept...then got pregnant while on antibiotics in October 2005.

They say that it could take up to 18 months to get pregnant after getting off BC..they are wrong.

Have your doctor check.

Hi. I was on Depo for 5 years. I got engaged on Christmas and in January I spoke with my doctor about getting married in August and that i wanted to start a family right away. He suggested that I dont get another shot because it could take that long to get out of my system and I agreed. So I didnt get the shot or my period for a the next 4 months. In April I felt very sick and thought I had the flu. After some coaxing from friends and family I took a pregnancy test and found out I was pregnant already. I went to the doctor and was told that I was already 3 months a long. So the month after I decided to not have my shot I got pregnant.
Good luck!

When I was on depo I was told it could take anywhere from 6mths to a year for the hormones to wear off. I also know a ton of women who have gone through the same thing. Depo is very big in terms of weight gain so becareful.

Can take on average 10 months to return to fertility after stopping depo. Remember you ovulate before you get your period. Your hormones will be very irregular after discontinuing depo. Have your MD look at your breasts as well. The clear sticky substance doesn't sound normal.

Good luck getting pregnant.
