A Mouse? Seriously?

I think I have met my breaking point today. My home is up for sale, and I had a showing this morning. BEFORE the showing, I went to make my sons lunch, and what did I find in my cupboard? Yep, evidence that Mickey is here. IN MY HOUSE, BEFORE A SHOWING. Now, my house is spotless, and apparently it found a CRUMB in my cabinet. It has been raining here nonstop, and I guess it found a nice , clean shelter in my home . I about lost it. I cleaned the heck out of the cabinet, and looked everywhere else in my house- no evidence anywhere else. So, I prayed to God that the showing went well. I have never had this problem in my home before. Apparently now is the time? Seriously? Anyways, I am looking for some support that I will be able to clear my mind and get rid of this fun. Hope everyone else's day is going just swell!

@ Christy- Hi, my friend! Yes, I bought some traps. I already put some peanut butter in them. Hopefully I will catch them! Next showing is Saturday, so will see how it goes. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Ahhh we caught 6 in our house a couple months ago! SIX!! Ick! :( AND they got into my cupcake mix - that declared war!! haha

If you don't like mice as much as I do, these traps are GREAT

They are pricey tho :( BUT you don't have to see it and you don't have to touch it!

Otherwise, get the old fashioned wooden traps & slap some peanut butter on them! And do what I did - have hubby toss them :)

Oh jeez! Something similar happened to my inlaws when they were just about to show their house. As the realtor pulled up in the driveway, a swarm of termites literally started coming out of the attic crawl space, which is located right above the front door inside their house. So they grabbed some towels and started frantically batting them away as the people were ringing the doorbell!

Then there the time my husband and I were holding an open house for our first house. That morning we woke up to someone having tagged the H Salt Fish and Chips building at the end of our street from top to bottom w/ the words 'F*ck You' NICE, huh??!!

Good luck w/ your new guest :)

Hi Rae!

Sorry to hear about your rodent buddy.

They do tend to come in with the rain, don't they?

I guess it's time to pick up some traps. Tuck them in the cupboard behind a few things. Out of sight.

I hope you get them!

Mice are common even if you don't live in the woods. I know it looks icky and you don't want it before a showing, but what can you do? It's not the sign of a disgustingly dirty house. Just get some of that mouse bait that makes them thirsty so they go outside for water, then they die out there and you don't have to deal with them.

peanut butter may not work as well as you would think, if you can get the bait and set it on there that works very well, we live in an old farm house and they always go for the bait and leave the pb alone. go figure.
