Hello!
I am 23 days late, when I was four and five days late I spotted then when I was ten days late I went ahead and took a test at the hospital [cheaper] just to humor my mind it of course came out negative. I couldnt ask a doctor because they are strict about to ask questions you have to have an appointment. My insurance does not cover that right this minute. So for the past couple of days I have been online looking around. The only things I could come up with is.
A. Implantation- meaning I took the test too early and the egg implanted itself and that is what the bleeding meant.
B. my birth control messed it up.
I was on Mirena for 2 years but its side affects messed up my body so I got off of it.
I got on yaz 2 months ago and just stopped 30 days, I was not taking it exactly like they said to. Life was weird at the time so I sometimes missed a pill but took two at the same time [ the packet said it was ok] I did that like 3 times. I sometimes took the pill five to eight hours late or early. Life was hectic enough that I didnt even make it in to get it refilled.
I have been with my hubby for 3 years and sleeping with him for 2 so for short we have not missed one day or night....if you get my hint. We always have made time for that.

Any other ideas or suggestions?
Please I have to wait a month to go into the hospital for another test..
Could it be cysts?

Anything will be appreciated.

What can I do next?

This happened to me last month. I completely skipped October. I took about 100 test and each off them said negative. Finally I started. 32 days late. If you just got off yaz 30 days ago, that could have something to do with it.

Just buy a generic brand test at Wal-mart and put your mind at ease! They're like $7 or something. THEN you'll know if you need to go to the doctor because of something else. Plus if you are pregnant it's important to get good prenatal care right away.

Love the name!
You might be pregnant. Take care of your body just in case (extra folic acid, etc), and get another test ASAP. Get a cheap one or go back to the hospital.
The pill is only 99% effective IF you take it at the same time every day and never miss. Since you are kinda all over the place, it is probably more like 50% or so.

There are LOT of things that can contribute to a missed period. Going off the birth control pill could definitely be the cause. It always takes my body a few months to get used to being on OR off any type of birth control. I was told by my OB that it can take up to 6 months for your body to regulate.
You said life was hectic. Any type of stress can make your period late as well.
I would suggest going to the dollar store and buying a pregnancy test there. They are only $1 for the kind where you pee in cup and use the dropper. (That's the kind my doctor uses) I think the ones where you pee on a stick are something like $3. The dollar store tests are just as accurate as the more expensive ones.
If it's negative at this point, then you're not pregnant and it's most likely that your body is just adjusting to not being on birth control.

Go buy some dollar store tests and take them asap. If you are pregnant and you want to have options, you need to find out sooner rather than later. I personally believe in a woman's right to choose, so I apologize that I can't tell from your post if you would be happy with a pregnancy or not. If you can't afford to go to the hospital or a dollar store test at least get in contact with Planned Parenthood in your area.

Relax TreeHugger! LOL! That is a FANTASTIC name you have by the way! On to your question: There are a trillion reasons you could be 23 days late. They go anywhere from you are a little stressed over the possibility of being pregnant (good or bad stress, the body can't tell the difference), stessed at work or over the holidays right down to your uterus is going to fall out. It could be implantation however, if the test said negative it's quite likely negative. Especially since you were already 10 days late at that point. It could be cysts. PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrom). Other symptoms are cramping pains, excessive weight gain, acne & hair growth (chin, neck face.....). Could be Insulin Resistance. There's a lot of the same symptoms of PCOS but minus the cramping pains. Any of that sound familiar to you? Of course, there is the possibility of a false negative but the tests are 99.9% accurate. So few women have a false reading. I would relax. Accept it as a skipped period because you're playing with your hormones (on the pill, off the pill on the pill off the pill) and I'm sure you'll start next time. :)

I would buy a pregnancy test just to ease you mind.. I have polysistic ovaries so I don't have periods very often. It could be the start of that. It could also be stress.. I don't feet mind if I stress I spot but never start. It is good to find out if ur pregnant because u will want to start prenatal vits asap

Take another test. If it's negative, I can't imagine you're pregnant. 23 days late, is most certainly late enough to get a positive. And late enough to get a firm negative. Doubling up on pills and all that can mess up your periods. I suspect, this is a birth control thing, or something else... not pregnancy.
