Traditional 5th anniversary gifts are made of wood.
Modern 5th anniversary gifts are silverware.

Wooden jewelry man box?
A piece of art framed in wood?
Wooden shadow box of mementos?
Grilling set?

We just celebrated our anniversary(4 years married, 15 together)and what I did was create a framed poem I had written special for our anniversary, gave him a jar of 100 reasons why I love him and/or things I love about him, and wrote an in-depth card to him as well. What can I say I'm a bit cheesy that way but in the end my husband looooved them. Just an idea. Season sports tickets also work quite well.

For our 5th anniversary we went to a B&B in Temecula. It was a beautiful place, the breakfasts were amazing. We watched the chef pick the herbs and fruit for our breakfast! And the wine in the area is yummy. The place we stayed had sherry in the rooms and a wine and cheese happy hour in the evening.

For our 10th we went to a B&M in Julian, which was fun as well but we brought our 2 year old and I was pregnant so it wasn't the same!

Good luck, enjoy and Happy Anniversary!

I like personalized items. I was going to get hubs a personalized pocket watch with an engraving a few years ago, then I realized he probably wouldn't use a pocket watch...ever... but it was a cute idea.

Congrats :)

Does he have any hobbies? Could you get him something related to his hobby?

I don't know how much money you want to spend, but some other ideas might be:
- Fantastic seats to a sporting event If he has a favorite team.
- One of those race/car driving packages where you get to drive on a race track and/or get to drive some fancy sports car.

My husband really loves activities more than he likes 'stuff,' so on past occasions, I have gotten him an overnight getaway at a B&B in a lovely place (Laguna, Cambria). He did this once for me with a surprise trip to San Diego on the train--just told me when to be ready to leave the house with my packed bag. It was such a wonderful surprise, and very romantic!

My husband surfs and body surfs so for our 10th I got him this really cool painting that is a fish eye lens view of a barrel wave at the wedge in Newport. The artist also used silver and gold leafing, so it's really very cool. Got it from a local artist at the Sawdust Festival (I see you're in OC, too) Good luck!
