How Should I Learn to Do Baby Signing?

I was wondering if anyone has bought a baby signing book, and if they found it helpful. What book(s) would you recommend? Should I buy it or just check it out from the Library? Is there a better way to learn other than taking a class?

Infant Swimming Lessons

I've been researching everything there is out there about infant swimming lessons. Everyone has a program and advises it. But I'm wondering how early you started swim lessons for your little ones? For those of you who did enroll your infant in swim lessons, are you glad you did? Did you find that you would've felt just as comfortable in the water with your baby without them? Thanks in advance for any advice or guidance you have.

Anyone Have Advice on Saving for Children's College? 529 Plans?

Looking for information on saving for children's college. Family gives money for kids birthdays and Christmas and I want to start something just not sure where to begin. I know there are limitations to the 529 plans so I'd like to hear opinions on whether it's a good or bad choice. THANKS!

Camping with an Infant.

DH and I have friends who love camping. They have invited us to go on some trips with them. We just cannot agree on what to do with our 4 month old daughter. My idea is to get one of those 3 room tents and set up the pack n play. DH thinks that DD should either sleep in her infant carrier or with us. So what do we do with her during the day then? Hold her all the time? I swear men just do not think sometimes. LOL So what have you all done? Any advice?

Want to Start a Play Group

I would like to start a play group/time swap with other moms/parents in my area. Once or twice a week for our kids to play together and/or baby sitting for 2 hours a week so mom can get her nails/hair done, shopping baby-free, or just to read a book or take a bath without interruptions from a toddler.

Skipping a Grade

My son is in second grade, and he is advanced in math and reading at a 5th grade level. We are having conversations with his teacher and principal about moving him to third grade. I'm fairly opposed to this because I think it can be tough socially. Do you have any experiences or advice?
