Camping with an Infant.

DH and I have friends who love camping. They have invited us to go on some trips with them. We just cannot agree on what to do with our 4 month old daughter. My idea is to get one of those 3 room tents and set up the pack n play. DH thinks that DD should either sleep in her infant carrier or with us. So what do we do with her during the day then? Hold her all the time? I swear men just do not think sometimes. LOL So what have you all done? Any advice?

What Do You Do with Your Children's Artwork?

Hi! I have a 2 year old son and I already have a large pile of his beautiful artwork. What do I do with it? I want to keep at least some of his art, but I know realistically I can't keep it all. Of course, I have some hanging on our fridge and in his bedroom. Does anyone have any good ideas for how to save my little man's artwork? Thanks for your help! You all are the bests!!

Do You Blog?

Hi all, I have a blog that I put everything from family photos to recipes to general rants. In the beginning all my family and friends loved this and some even started their own as they were inspired by reading mine. However, over the last year or so, not many of my family/friends are reading it anymore. I put a poll on my blog asking my readers if I should keep or ditch the blog as Facebook seems to be where most people do their "blogging". I think it was a dumb poll as everyone said, "keep it" but I am barely to maybe 3 regular...

My Baby Wants to Constantly Be Held

My baby is 5 wks old and wants to be constantly held. I understand he hasn't learned to self soothe and maybe a little young for self-soothing. I love holding him but then I can't get anything done....shower, make dinner, laundry, etc. Sometimes he will play if I set him down but it depends on the hour and day. Often he wants to be held almost all day, when I put him down he starts crying (extremely loud). I have a baby borjn but he's too small for that right now. but even if I were to put it on I feel like I couldn't stand in front of a...

Pretend Play or Dress Up?

Does anyone know of a place in the Plano area that our therapist can take my daughter to do pretend play or dress up or something interactive? My daughter has autism, and we do 30 hours a week of therapy. I am looking for a different setting than our home - she is sooo tired of all our stuff. The Clubhouse 4 Kids (parker and independence) is exactly the type of place I am looking for, but unfortunatley, they closed down. Any suggestions? Thanks. J.

Summer Knitting Ideas

Not sure how many people on here knit but even those who don't can answer this! I'm addicted to knitting, but in the summer/spring months I don't enjoy it as much because most of what I make are for the winter months! Scarves, hats, sweaters, blankets. Any ideas for summer items? Another problem I have is knitting more things than I need. :) I should start selling!!

Non-Crafty Moms, Would You Pay for Craftiness?

I was at the craft store the other day looking for memorial day decorations, and overheard a mom buying fabric for a costume she needs to make for her kids school by Thursday, and it got me thinking. I'm not crafty at all. I wouldn't know where to start when it comes to making a costume, scrapbooking (although I try), or anything else real crafty. I always say that I will have to hire someone to be "crafty" mom for my kids. But who would I hire? Is there already a business out there that does this? I would want someone I could call and...

Can Your Baby Read?

I've seen the "Your Baby Can Read" on tv a lot and I wanted to know has anyone used it and what do you think of it? It appears to be pretty simple where you are showing your baby words and the picture that corresponds. I am not a fan of spending money on things that I can do myself.

Are There ANY Scrapbookers Out There?

Hi Everyone, I am looking for ladies that would be interested in getting together once a week or so to scrapbook while the kids are at school. I have been scrapbooking for about 16 months since my youngest was born. I usually go to Recollections because they have such a wide selection of everything you need. I also sell Creative Memories & try to do Friday night Crops with friends & love that but since my favorite little Scrapook Cottage moved I don't have anywhere or anyone to crop with during the day while my 10 yr old is in...

Having a Quilt Made

Hi Moms - my kids have a bin full of clothes that I've kept - those "babies first xxxx" onesies and bibbs and other meaningful shirts and other miscellaneous favorite clothes. My aunt has a friend who does quilting and I'd like to ask her to make a quilt for each of my kids out of these clothes. Has anyone ever done this? Mostly, how much did you pay for it? I don't want to ask then be shocked by the price and not follow through, but I can't spend a fortune either. Thanks!!
