Anybody NOT Going to Miss Oprah?

I think I'm over her. She's NOT going away and if you've watched OWN it NEEDS her attention! Hours and hours of boring and depressing tv.

I want OLD Oprah episodes aired but she rather do box sets (ugh.) I also want old soaps aired but that's a whole other issue.

I think I'm sick of her becasue I live in the Oprah Triangle. I'm close to Chicago and Milwaukee. When ever she comes to Milwaukee it's SUCH a BIG DEAL. So what? Her family has to live SOMEWHERE and it just happens to be in the Milwaukee area.

What can I do next?

She is a non-entity in my life, so no, I won't miss her. Couldn't care less, don't understand why she's such a big deal.

I LOVED Oprah for years...Tivo'd her and all...then when she came out and had the big party for Obama - that just did me in for her - she had done sooo well staying OUT of politics and being neutral....I would've done the same if she had done the same for McCain....I loved her being neutral and bringing to light problems and ways to fix them....

I never got into Oprah and frankly find her to be somewhat annoying. I don't watch her and am not DVR'ing her show today like so many of my friends are doing. I have a group of girlfriends who are getting together to have champagne this afternoon and watch the final episode. Really? I'll be outside with my son on our bikes enjoying this beautiful (finally) Spring day!

I will be glad when her show is finally off the air, done, over and gone and we don't have hear about it anymore. People act like she is going away forever. She is not; she owns another network where I'm sure 24hrs will be devoted to her and her views. Truth be known she is probably gearing up to go work the campaign trail for Obama.

Nope.

It's not like she's dying! She'll still be in our faces all the time, through her magazine or her OWN network. Fortunately if I don't want to deal with it, I don't have to read it or watch it :)

Not going to miss her. We don't have tv (by choice) and I didn't even know she was leaving until someone mentioned it yesterday.
Even when I did have tv I rarely watched her. I have better things to do with my life!

Me Me. I like her less now that she got her own channel and completely biffed up my fit tv.
And you are so right she is not going away, just ending a 25 yr old tv show.

I don't miss her one bit. I don't watch OWN either and I don't read O. I have my own life to live and am too busy to be concerned about her, her marriage, her companies, her schools and whatever else she has her hands in. I believe a better use of my time is emulating the volunteer/mentor attitude she depicts and not sitting in my house watching her do it.

I watch her off and on. Happened to catch the first farewell show on Monday and it got my attention. She has done a lot of good things and it was neat to see how many people and celebs were there for her, its pretty much a phenomenon, so I caught the last half hour of it yesterday and will probably watch again today. I can't imagine what it would feel like to get THAT MUCH appreciation. Oprah was very unpopular for the first few years yet she didnt let the naysayers stop her. She had a vision and a mission to accomplish and I'm sure she's not done. OWN does need her full attention tho, I agree with the other poster that talked about how boring it is, same thing over and over on that channel. I think it's going to change drastically when Oprah gives it her full attention. She has a lot of positive energy and I think she has been a good thing for the world and was chosen specifically.

People who don't like her won't miss her. Oprah bashing has become popular, so she was smart to retire. I'm missing her final season because we shut off cable, and I miss her! I mean come one, some shows were boring-who could do something incredible every single day, but some shows were AWESOME. And with all the different personalities in the world, that's all you can do, a li'l something for everyone. I was only able to watch EVERY day, briefly when the kids were newborns and I wasn't working. I used to love nursing at 4pm-an excuse to take a break and throw on the tube. I'll always remember that!

You nailed it HB, the Oprah bashers don't even watch her...it's always the way....
