Homeschooling a 3 Year Old

Any advice on starting a cuuriculum for my 3 year old. I'm a SAHM and our budget is slim, right now I can't afford to get him into half day preschool. The least expensive I've found is $95 a week. So I've been seriously thinking of homeschooling him. What advice, websites and curriculum can be beneficial and easy to teach. Thanks moms

Having a Hard Time Trying to Teach My 4 Year Old!!!!

Hello wonderful moms! I need your help. My 4 year old is having a hard time focusing. Since I'm a SAHM and we don't really have the funds to send him to a preschool, I try to teach him myself a long with my 21 month old son. He is very smart BUT its like he dont apply hisself. My husband told him he wants a SMART kid not the COOL kid. My son then says to his father, "Well I want to be cool, not smart!" We can sit down and try to do his workbooks and worksheets and he wants to play, or he starts talking about something that has nothing to...

My 4 Year Old Son Tells Me His Pre-school Teacher Is Calling Him a Bad Boy

Hi Ladies, We just moved here and I started my 4 year old at a new pre-school. Last wednesday he told me that his teacher called him a bad boy. Yesterday he didn't want to talk much about school and then said Ms J called him a bad boy again. The more I think about this the more it infuriates me. My son does not lie and bad boy is not a phrase he has ever used or heard in our house. The problem is I can actually see this woman using that phrase by her age and teaching history of 25 years of 4th graders. She seems very sweet and the...

Seeking Supportive Moms Advice for Difficult 3 Year Old

First off, I really don't want to be told by half a dozen moms that I am not disciplining him enough. I am really hoping for some advice that is sensitive and helpful. If there are other moms who also happen to have special needs kiddo's all the better since they will have more of an idea of what a typical day is like in my shoes. I also appologize for the length of this post... Alex turned 3 June 5th. Prior to turning 3 he had a full year of intensive therapy, in the beginning we had therapists here sometimes several days a week,...

3 Year Old Son Refuses to Potty Train

Hi, my 3 year old son does not want to potty train. We started training when he was 2 1/2 and I never pushed it then and now we're approaching 3 1/2 and he freaks out when I mention going on the potty. He can pee, but has only gone #2 a handful of times which were absolutely at my insistence and pushing. I talk about it daily to him but he just gets upset or unruly. We moved twice last fall and his world was turned upside down and I really think the instability has set him back a bit. But we've been in our home now 2 months and we're...

Living on Credit Cards

Financially we are quite a mess, and at odds as to what to do! So please, any advice would be helpful. Our credit score is excellent, we manage to pay things on time, because we keep borrowing from our credit cards. We are over 115,000 in debt, and that does NOT include the large mortgage. We are an average family, we don't make a lot of $, we bought a home too expensive, and had debt going into it, but now it's way worse. We are not upside down, just have more going out then whats coming in. We'd like to keep good credit, because...

Do You "Sneak" Your 3 Year Old In?

We are planning to go to Legoland and Sea World next week, both of which have a "under 3 - free" policy. DD just turned 3 in June. She's average height and weight, but very verbal - when she's not being shy, which is most of the time. My question is, have you "snuck" your child in in this type of situation? Have you ever been questioned? It would be great to save some $$. Yes, I do understand the ethical considerations, but $$ is tight, but DD has been asking to go to these places. (We can stay for free w/ relatives, and I have a...
