Trying to sell something on CL but this is my first time - does anyone know - when writing a post - do you make up a CL "relay" or does the system automatically assign one to your post? I am afraid to hit "publish" b/c I don't want it to show my personal email. Thank you

What can I do next?

It will not show your email HOWEVER I set up a "junk" hotmail account just for craigslist so I didn't get spam and such from it.

It will do it for you, no one will see or have your email address. CL will relay it o you. I have CL for years, buying and selling.
It is safe if you use common sense, come to your house when hubby is home or meet in the parking lot of a CVS, grocery store, etc. during the day.
Good luck!

It will not show your e-mail. It assigns a code to your post automatically that routes responses to your e-mail.

When selling on craigslist - it will NOT display your e-mail address. When you select the CL Relay - it assigns you some anonymous account.

NOW - if you do NOT want people to have your personal e-mail account? I suggest that you open an e-mail account specifically for selling on ebay and craigslist. This way - when you respond to their questions or a request to meet up to purchase - they will NOT have your primary e-mail account.

Yes, it auto-hides your email. Go ahead and post.

Right, Craigslist won't show your email address, but my husband and I prefer to deal with phone calls and texts. Craigslist generates LOTS of spam emails.

Phone calls and texts usually come from real people and can result in an actual sale.

I've seen lots of people do what Tina suggests. Personally I never had an problems typing my phone number with actual numbers, but it's also been a few years. Tina's probably right.
