Essential Beach Gear (CAN'T PACK EXTRAS)

Ladies: Swimsuits are already hitting hte racks. We've booked a week long vacation in the Carribean with our 9 month old for May. Our darling son is our first. While hubby and I are experienced travellers, we've never done a flight with baby, nor, will we have done the beach/pool with baby. Given the narrow allowances for luggage, what are absolute essentials. What should we leave behind. What would you recommend for local beach outings, that you wouldn't bother taking abroad. What are little ones capable of at that age? Anything you...

Good Toys for 13 Month Olds....

What do your 13 month old kiddos like to play with? I find that my son gets bored easily with the toys that I have and is much more fascinated with "real" things, like pots and pans (which is fine) but also lots of things that he shouldn't have (ie: my cell phone, my keys, my glasses, camera, etc..). Or grabbing onto magnets and every cupboard handle we walk by if I am carrying him. I have a three year old daughter and I seem to remember it being a little easier to satisfy her. She always liked me to play with her but if I were there...

Did You Go on a Beach Vacation This Summer? What Should I Pack?

Did you go on a beach vacation this summer? We are planning one next summer and I'm wondering if you have any recommendations on what I should make sure I pack. (Besides the obvious, like sun screen!) I'm thinking a snorkel mask, buckets, etc. We'll have three kids ages 7, 5 and 2.

Tubs & Safety

Ladies - Our little one is just about 8 months old. Generous souls at our baby shower gifted us not one, but two infant tubs. Nontheless, we have barely been using them. We find it wasier to give little one a rinse in the kitchen sink, or holding him in the shower. Now that he's gotten bigger, stronger, wrigglier, and far more mobile, I am at a loss on what to do. Also, between his bigger BMs and the crawling, it looks like we are going to have to bathe him more often. The shower optionno longer seems safe, neither do the infant...

What Do You Do with Your Kids Outdoor Toys?

We have so many outdoor toys, and they get so dirty after it rains on them a few times. I thought about moving them to the garage after each use, but that's a lot of work. I thought some kind of cover with a zipper would be good, like a tarp, but is there even a such thing? What do you all do with your toys so they stay in good shape? Thanks!
