Behavior and Discipline for 5 Year Old Boy

I'm at the end of my rope with my almost 5 year old son. No matter what I tell him to do (stop hitting your brother; don't jump on the couch; go wash your hands for dinner, etc.)he just keeps doing what he was doing. When I ask why, he says because he wants to. Then I send him to time out, he mouths off all the way to his time out, I yell, he cries...In the end I always make him do whatever I asked him to in the first place, so its not like his behavior gets him anywhere. Language Skills for a 2 Year Old

My daughter is almost two years old and I am worried about her language skills. When other people are around her they do not understand what she is saying and I have to constantly tell them which is frustrating. To me it is pretty clear (most of the time)but obviously not to others. I know I shouldn't compare her to other children but when we take her to play areas or story time it seems that other children speak pretty well. When I ask how old they are their mothers say 2. I need help with my 6 year old he's outta hand. He likes to tell me waht to do and not to listen to me. Any time you tell him to do something he throws a fit. If he doesn't get his own way in school he throws a temper tantrum. If you ground him all he says his I'm telling on you.
