Preschool Mean Kids

My 3-year-old (he'll be 3 1/2 next week) started preschool soon after getting potty-trained in February of 2007. All of the other kids in his class started in September of 2006 (when school traditionally starts). My son LOVES activities and teachers and kids so my hubby and I were so excited to finally get him potty trained and enrolled in a preschool. In the past we had done classes at the Y, Gymboree, and play groups here and there. After the first week of preschool, my son started to get really quiet when we asked him about...

Daughter Won't Eat Breakfast Before School

Hello Ladies, The school year is beginning and I know that it benefits a child when they eat breakfast before going to school. My seven year old daughter is not a big breakfast eater and last year it was a battle to get her to eat before getting on the bus. I asked her if she would try drinking a shake every morning and she said that sounds yummy. Can anyone suggest a good tasting nutritious shake full of vitamins for her to try. I live in a small town and we have a Meijer and Walmart, otherwise it would have to be something I can order...

3 Yo Daughter Turned Monster...

I am just curious if anyone else has a child, recently turned three, that has started throwing temper tantrums and crying about EVERYTHING! My daughter turned 3 a month ago and it seems that suddenly she is the biggest whiner/cryer/tantrum thrower. Not that she was an angel before but it seems to have gotten a lot worse very quickly. I'm struggling to find a balance of compassion for her frustration and strength to not just give her whatever she wants (as I know this won't help anything in the long run). Just looking for some tips and a...

Separation Anxiety or Temper Tantrum?

My dd will turn 2 in June and her separation anxiety seems to be getting WORSE instead of better. According to all of the articles I read (and many parents I talk to who have experienced this), this separation anxiety should be getting better the closer kids get to age two. I know all kids are different, and every situation is different, but I am home with her 90% of the time while my dh works and goes to school in the evenings. While we are at home, my dd wants to monopolize my time, and when she doesn't get her way, she throws a...

Bibs That Stay On

Hello moms, My sweet baby girl can rip off any bib you put on her neck in a heartbeat. Usually she will leave it on during the meal, but the moment she is done she will pull it off, including the Baby Bjorns. So before I invest again I'd like suggestions for bibs that tie/velcro in the back,(something only Linda Blair could see if she turned her head all the way around:)preferably with a pocket to catch any falling food. Thanks
