14 Year Old That Has a Lot of Headaches

I have a 14 year old son that has headaches quite often. He wears glasses, so that is not the problem. He comes home from school daily with a headache. I have taken him to the doctor and they have no answers for me. Does any one have this problem. He has had them on and off for 3 or 4 years now.

12 Year Old Boys...

My girlfriend has a 12 year old boy that is truly driving her nuts. I give as good of advice as I can, but really I raised girls, Im sure its different. Her son, has started "dating" a 13 year old girl (who mom doesnt like hehe), is pretty disrespectful to his mom, he is spoiled with cash & fancy electronics by his Dad that lives in a different city. He wants to "go out" on dates with the girlfriend, I think in groups it should be ok...? He has no experience using transit alone- I think now is a good time to learn... theres a bunch of stuff...

IS She Gifted?

Okay everyone keeps telling me my daughter is gifted and I need to find the "best school" for her! Well long story short we live in Mpls a good district and there is also a private school close by. She is 4 and can read, add, subtract, colors, shapes, remembers everything, is starting to tell time, count by 2,5,10, count up to at least 500 and also math problems. Why Do You Homeschool?

I wanted to ask all the Homeschool Moms why they decided to homeschool. Was it for a specific reason or reasons? How long have you been homeschooling? How long do you plan on doing it for? How old are your children? At what age did you start? Is it a struggle? How did you choose your curriculum? Do you belong to a co-op? If your reason is somewhat controversial or you don't want to offend anyone please PM me as I am looking for truthful answers. Thanks

10 Year Old Wants to Have Her Own Email and Facebook Page

I wanted to know what you all think about my 10 (almost 11) year old daughter wanting to have her own email and facebook page. She claims that most all of her other friends do and she wants to keep close contact with them, especially over the summer. (She attends private school and her friends do not live nearby.) Quite a few have their own I-phones with full capability. My concerns are cyber bullying, inadvertant exposer to computer viruses to the family computer, and allowing too much private information out "to the world". Am I...

Ready for Kindergarten

My daughter is 4 years old and has a September birthday. She has been going to a preschool for two years now and is in the fours class. I recently had a review with her teacher and she recommended pre-k. She agreed that my child is very smart, but she is also shy. She felt that my child was not ready for Kindergarten because of that and that she is not a leader, her confidence level is low and is not into the other things the other girls are into like Hanna Montana and High School Musical. Personally I don't think that has anything to do...

Summer for a 12 and 10 Year Old - Leave Them Home Alone?

So my friend has 2 kids - a 12 year old girl and a 10 year old boy. As a family, they take two weeks off during the summer. For the other 6 plus weeks, she plans to leave them home alone while she and her husbad work 9-5 Monday - Friday. There are camps they can send them to that are not expensive (money is not an issue). They will likely go to a one week camp (for sports) for a week or two but that's it. Would you leave you 12 and 10 year old at home for 4+ weeks over the summer? I think they are insane. I think it's insane...
