Moms of Teenagers Who Have a Good Relationship with Their Kids

I didn't have a good relationship with my parents. They never thought me to be open and honest with them and to come and talk to them about things and I never did. I always made my own decisions (not always good) and never asked anyone for advice.. I would like to teach my kids to be very open with us and have them come to us with their problems and questions. Father Wanting to Know

Back in 1987 / 1988, I met a woman at a local bar in Fairfax Va. It led to a couple nights together and ever since then I've had a "sense" that I may have fathered a child. I could give a bunch of excuses, but bottom line I never called back... don't remember her name. (Sorry ladies, I'm really not a bad guy... was just young). So, I'm not even sure there's a child, but something deep inside tells me there's someone out there. So, I'm curious if I should be seeking... and if so, how? Expecting a Girl & Slightly Disappointed

Ok, we found out yesterday that we are expecting a girl. We were hoping for another boy. I can't help but to feel slightly disappointed. I am happy she is healthy & growing well. However, we were thinking of all the high-maintenance behavior down the road - mood swings, having just the right outfit, boyfriends, etc. We are more scared than anything. I would appreciate some advice from other Moms who've experienced raising both boys and girls. What can we expect & how do they compare? Thank you.

Hi Moms, When does an adult child, mine for instance he is 20 become responsible for their own choices?? My son who is 20 years old almost 21 lives with his dad my ex-husband.
