I have a 5 year old son who really loves music. Can I already send him to attend piano lessons? Where is the best place to send him? Thanks for your recommendations.

What can I do next?

Our teachers name is Amy and she is at Antioch Music Center I believe. My husband takes her to and from. I've only met her at recitals. Our daughter has been taking lessons for 2 years and she's 9. But she might have been able to before. It depends on the width and strength of your child's hands. Amy has over 60 students and is very good at what she does.

I teach lessons out of my home one night a week. Usually 6 years or older is a great time to start (I think 8 years is ideal), but I do currently teach a 5 year old. It is sometime hard to get him to sit still for the 30 minutes, so it may depend on your child's temperment as to when you would have him start.

My SIL teaches lessons and she says that she likes to start them as soon as they can read so your son is probably pretty close. I can't recommend anyone other the my SIL but I'm sure if you ask people in your area, you will find someone.
