Any Great 100Th Day of School Ideas?

The 100th day of school is coming up next week for my kindergartener. I don't remember ever doing this so I'm clueless. She already has her shirt w/ 100 things taken care of, but I am trying to think of some fun "mommy" things to do. I already thought about making her breakfast look like the number 100 - sausage link w/ 2 pancakes. Does anyone else have some other fun ideas (food for lunch, decor & other special surprises) to help make the day even more fun at home? Thanks in advance!

Hi C.,
What a great mom you are. C., I know you already have the shirt done for your child, but may I suggest to any other parent who is reading this.....one of the children came to school with 100 pieces of bubble gum attached to her shirt! It was SO CUTE. So possibly you could take this idea at home and do something with 100 pieces of bubble gum. I hope this helps someone in some way. God bless!

When my daughter was in 1st grade last year she was sick so we had 100th day at school. I made a 1 0 0 out of construction paper and taped it to the wall and made a sign with constructuion paper that said Happy 100th day. I also made hearts and and balloons with construction paper with encouraging words. I used curling ribbon to make my construction paper balloons look more like a balloon! My daughter couldn't believe I could so so much for construction paper.

Wow! Thanks for asking this question. Our 100th day is coming up soon and I hadn't even thought of doing anything for breakfast, etc... So, I went to the internet. If you just Google "100th day of school ideas for moms", there are tons of websites with ideas submitted by moms and teachers. There's even a book called "The 100th Day of School." There also is a children's book called "Emily's First 100 Days of School" by Rosemary Wells. You could make a little book and have questions like , "What would you buy if you had $100?", "What are some things your mom and dad have told you 100 times?", "I wish I had 100...", "You have been in school 100 days. What have you liked best?""What was it like to be a kid 100 years ago?", "What will it be like to be a kid 100 years from now?", etc...
I'm excited about the day now. You could even make cupcakes with of course "100" on them.
Have fun. Thanks again for asking.

We did this years ago with my daughter and it was a lot of fun. One thing was collecting 100 buttons. They can be glued to poster board, or fill a plastic container with a lid and it becomes a "musical instrument" when shaken, or if you have time (with 3 probably not) attach to cloth and she has a wall hanging, pillow, etc... The fun of looking at the different shapes, sizes and colors kept her entertained for hours. She can count out pennies, corn, beans, etc.. Good luck.

When I taught first grade, some of the kids favorite activities were . . .

100 Day Trail Mix - I'd have 10 different items - crackers, cheerios, marshmallows, chocolate chips, M&Ms, etc. They chose 10 of each item to make 100 pieces of food (10 groups of 10)

A writing - What I would do with $100. Those always cracked me up. They'd buy a house, a car . . . one kid was going to buy Six Flags - not tickets to it, but the actual park. Very few kids at that age had a concept of how little $100 would buy. So cute!

We'd also have them draw a picture of what they thought they'd look like at 100 years old. Those were always so cute.

We also had the kids all bring in 100 somethings in a baggie (pennies, buttons. . . ) and we'd group them into groups of 10 and count by 10s, 5s and count by 5s, 2s and count by twos.

Oh, I miss that time...my son is now in the 8th grade. We made a poster with 100 shells from the beach...we collected them in Galveston...I still have it...

My daughter is almost 4 months and I can't wait for all the fun things to do again!

Enjoy the projects...they grow up so fast!!!

Hello, I make flower stuff. I would love to create her a cake made out of flowers that has 100 on it. It would be small for her size. I could make it with her favorite colors. Let me know. I didn't know there was such a thing. Email me at ____@____.com

Write her a list of 100 things you love about her:) She may not be able to read all of it now, but if you read it with her, and save it for her, it will mean a lot as she gets older! Maybe you could cut her sandwich up into circles and send something else for a number 1..like a cheese stick? I think it is great that you are as excited to celebrate the day with her..my kids 100th day is tomorrow (somehow??) and I did not do anything..hmm..maybe I should do some pancakes and sausage too!! ~A.~
