Most Useful New Infant Item You had...please share...especially Preemie Parents

So my SIL gave birth VERY early last week..at 30.5 weeks gestation. My niece weighed in at 2 lbs, 1 oz. She has done miraculously..no vent the whole time, no emergencies and while she has not gained any weight yet, she is maintaining her birth weight at this point. She looks wonderful...even a full head of hair! I thought fat and hair grew last?? She is a tiny little spectacular miracle! She will be needing some selections of preemie clothes, and other such things. But I am wondering what were the most useful things you had for Preemies...

Baby Won't Drink from Sippy Cup.

My little 11 month old girl had been drinking quite happily from a sippy cup. Now all of a sudden she refuses to drink from one and will only take a bottle. She just turns her little head away from the cup when I offer it to her, yet I know she is thirsty (it's meal time) and she will drink it from the bottle immediately. I have even just left the cup on her tray but she just throws it to the side. I'm not sure what has happened or what to do about it. Any thoughts, lovely ladies? Should I leave it for a while and then try again? Also,...

What Do You Really Need for an Infant?

So it's been 8 years since I last had a baby to care for. I am expecting again and am at a loss for what I really need and trying to prioritize. I have looked at many registries and think they include a lot of frivolous items (wipe warmers ect) So if you could go back in time and know then what you know now, what are your must have items. When I say I have nothing I mean not one baby item at all. I know I'll need a crib, clothes, ect. I also plan on breastfeeding, so I will need a pump for when I return to work and there are so many to...

New Mom and Baby Registry

I will be having my first child in December and I am attempting to create a baby registry. I thought this process would be easy and it's actually harder than I thought. I know what babies need but at the same time I feel like I don't. So I was just wondering what all you guys have gotten that have been life savers, what have you gotten that hasn't been so great. What were things that you wished you had requested but never got? That sort of thing. I will be having a baby boy and I've had lots of people tell me that because I'm having...

My Son Isn't Eating Any Protein...

My 15 months old is my picky eater. He won't eat any kind of meat (even if I try to hide it in other foods), no beans, no peanut butter, NOTHING. His pediatrician isn't worried about it yet, but I kind of am, because he's super active and needs a balanced diet. Has anyone experienced this with their little one? Any tricks to get some protein in him?

What's a Item You Used for Your Baby That You Couldn't Live Without??

HI MAMMA'S! I'm a soon-to-be 1st time gramma and wanted to make sure my daughter had some great things to help her transition into parenthood with the new baby. Is there something you received as a gift or bought yourself that really helped your sanity those first few months?? I bought her a cotton swaddler for the baby from target as I hear that swaddling is the thing to do to help a baby sleep better. (wish I would have known that back when she was little.. I wrapped her in a blanket but it wasn't like these swaddlers out now.. and...

I also heard of putting meat in them? Ew..what kind? Do your babies like this product? Thanks!

Infant Sleep Positioner

So my little 2 week old DD is doing great we just need a little help figuring out the best night time sleeping situation. She doesn't like her crib (either flat or at a slight incline), she doesn't like the bassinet or the glider. She sleeps great during the day on the boppy pillow - but of course that is supervised. Since we can't use the boppy at night, I'm thinking there has to be some device that would help her sleep but is also secure. I've done some research and found the Nap Nanny, the Snuggle Nest, and the Close & Secure Sleeper. ...

BPA In Baby Bottles

I have been reading a lot lately about BPA in baby bottles. I am starting to get concerned that the bottles I have been giving my daughter for the past 8 months may be causing her harm. I am thinking of switching to something else right now we use the Dr. Browns. Do you have any suggestions? Or do you think this is some new way to scare us new moms into buying something more expensive. Just wondering if anyone else out there is concerned too.
