How to deal with mucus congestion with newborn?

My 7 week old has a lot of mucus and sometimes she vomits it and chokes on it. I am terrified to put her in her own bed in case this happens. Our pediatrician has been told three times about this problem and doesn't seem to share my concern. Any tips or advice on getting rid of the mucus?

Stuffy Nose - 15 Week Old Infant

Hi Moms, My 15 week old son has a persistant stuffy nose without any other symptoms. I have treated him with saline drops, ran a humidifier at in his room and have recently started using Vicks Baby Rub first thing in the morning and last thing before I put him to bed. Any other suggestions for soothing his poor little nose? Thanks!

Need Help for Baby's Congestion and Lots of Spit Up

My sweet 8 week old son has been very congested since he was born. The docs told us that he ingested a lot of fluid and that was the main cause. But, he is still very congested at this point. It disrupts his ability to sleep and eat. I have asked my son's two doctors for help with this, but since they have not "heard" his congestion (much worse at night and in the early morning) they have not offered me much help. I have been using saline drops in his nose as well as the little sucker thing... Do you have any suggestions? Also, he...

Cold and Cough

Hi Ladies was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I could give my 10 month old if anything is aloud for his cough/ cold. I got sick and know how bad I felt before I got on antibiotics, so I thought even if it is homoepathic maybe I could help him feel better. I give him infant tylenol but didn't know if there is some magic I am missing to help it work thru faster. Thanks!!

Natural Remedies for Cough/congestion??

What do you do for a child who has congestion...how do you get that congestion moving out??? I have a 10 month old and a 3 year old and that junk is in there just not moving very much. They both feel fine...well, the little one has a slight fever as of this morning. He had a hoarse cough starting this early morning. They aren't miserable-I am!! Seeing them sick. Anyone have any 'natural' remedies I can try to get that stuff moving? Or do I just leave it alone and let it work itself out?

Sick Baby :(

Hi fellow moms- I have a beautiful 9month old who has been sick with a cold for the past six days. It started with a runny stuffy nose and has now progressed to this horrible cough that sounds like it's trying to break up phlem in her chest. In addition, she has a slight temp of 101 (rectal). Of course, she is also teething on top of everything else. Because of this violent cough, she's really not sleeping and moans after a bout of coughing, which tells me that her chest throat are probably hurting her. Also, she hasn't been able to...

Is It Possible to Dry up Son's Runny Nose?

My nearly 4 yo son has a cold/flu virus. He is oozing goo. His nose is running and dripping down to his mouth, and because he is breathing through his mouth he is drooling excessively. Is there anything I can do besides constantly wipe his nose and have him blow to dry up his sinuses? I know he's too young for decongestants. Help!

Alternatives to Infant Cold Medication?

Now that all infant cold medication has been pulled from the shelves, what are you giving your under 2-year-olds to relieve them from stuffy, ruuny nose and/or cough? Children's medication is still available, but I have a 9 month old with a cold and not sleeping well. Dr. wants me to bring her in, but it seems silly to do this every time she gets a runny nose. I just want to give her something to help her feel more comfortable during the night. Thanks!

Upper Respiratory Infection

I have a 7 month old daughter and a 3 year old daughter that are both sick. I'm more concerned about my baby because she can't take medicine like my 3 year old can. She is so stuffed up, can hardly breathe, stopped wanting to eat baby food, only will be nursed but not as often as usual, lost a little weight, only wants to be held by mom, not wanting to play, has a very bad cough, just lost her voice today, and doesn't want to sleep but when she does not for long. I keep cleaning her nose by using drops and then use a sucker to clean it out...
