Peapod Travel Bed/tent?

We bought this as we thougth it was an easier solution to air travel and overnight stays than a bulky, heavy pack and play. When folded, it's relatively small and is easy to carry on an airplane with the carry-on case. My daughter wouldn't sleep in it though. When unzippered she kept going in and out and would't go to sleep. When zippered, she freaked out and panicked that she was trapped inside. Now, it's an expensive play tent that still hasn't been used for a nap.

Well I'm in the minority, we hated ours. yes he could sleep in it and if thats all your looking for you will be fine. But I wanted it for sleeping and containment (little baby cage while I'm in the tub at the hotel, or while on the beach). And it didn't work for that because he can lay in it but can't even sit up in it because of the height of it.
I did just get a Phil and Teds portable tent and LOVE it! you can unzip the side (like the peapod) OR/AND the top (like a pack in play). So it works for sleeping and playing!

We love our peapod! My almost 4 yr old son still sleeps in it when needed. My 2 yr old daughter has napped in it a few times, but views it more as a play area! Get the peapod plus, it fits up to 6 yrs old. We use it to nap at pools, beaches, picnics, etc... and my son has slept overnight in it a few times. We bought ours through One Step Ahead, but I think more places sell it now. It was the only place that had the "princess pink"! Much easier to travel with!

We had the one for infants and I really liked it. I have not yet seen the bigger one, but honestly for a child large enough to outgrow the pack'n'play I would probably just opt for a low air mattress.

We just got one and I LOVE it. I wish I knew about it before. I plan using it for my 3 mo. old. My almost 3 year old can fit in it, but if it's for an older child I would consider the peapod plus. It is longer.
It is so easy to pop up and put away and pretty compact when stored.

We had one and I loved it. My son was a big 18 months and he crawled in and went to sleep no problem. I just didn't want his first experience in a bed to be when we were far away from home. I would totally skip the pack n play for another baby and just go with the pea pod. It was also a heck of a lot easier to carry around. Good luck!

We bought ours for an overseas trip when our son was 1 but ended up not using it. We finally used when he was just over 2. We tried it out at home a few nights before our trip to make sure he'd sleep in it. He loved the idea of sleeping in a tent. We'd zip it about 3/4. The problem was that he could easily get out of it, so he'd let himself out in the morning and walk out of the bedroom. He also didn't nap during that short weekend trip. Just be sure to test it out beforehand. We ordered ours from amazon - no tax and free shipping!! I'm not positive about their return policy, but I think it's 30 days.

YES -get the big one I think you're talking about, but make sure the measurements are bigger than her pack-n-play. We had the one for infants -1 year olds. It was the only one they made at the time, and I wish we had been able to initially buy the big one. They work well!

If your daughter is old enough/big enough to have outgrown the pack and play -other options may be an inflatable kids' travel mattress or the bolster/rails that are inflatable or that fold down for travel and attach to beds.

We had it with my daughter and she loved it. Its easy to set up and take down, light to travel with and it seems comfortable. She slept in it every time we traveled for about 2.5 years since she was around 1 year. She is 4 now and can sleep on a normal bed so we don't use it any more. I do however have to say she is a great sleeper and as long as her lovey was there she would sleep just about anywhere. I would try and buy it from a place with a good return policy as its not cheap and then try it out with your daughter. See if she will go in and lie down etc.

My daughter has slept in a PeaPod travel bed since she was an infant. I ordered the larger Pea Pod plus when she was over a year and we just returned from a week long trip where she slept in it... she's 4 now.

When she was a toddler I would safety pin the zippers shut for her own safety as we often were staying in non childproofed houses/hotels.

When the air mattress sprung a leak, the company sent another one out quickly for less than $10.
