Garage Sales/Rummage Sales

Does anyone in know if there any area rummage sales or garage sales in the Omaha area? If you do, please let me know when and a general idea of where. I really enjoyed going rummaging with my mom/sister when I lived in South Dakota and was wondering if I can continue doing it here. And since I am expecting my first child I do not have any baby items and thought that would be a great way to get myself and husband the items we need at an affordable price. Thanks a bunch girls!

What can I do next?

FYI: The rummage/flea market sale at rod Kushes isn't worth the drive. Just a bunch of junk. Flea markets are suppose to be where you can find unusual items at good prices. Not here!

hi, i just wanted to let you know about a really great baby and children's sale on May 5th at the UNO fieldhouse (i think it starts at 10am). this sale is put on by the omaha parents of multiples club and has extremely nice, used, items at very reasonable prices. they have all sorts of equipment (strollers, exersaucers, cribs, high chairs, outside play stuff) and of course tons of clothes. i get the majority of my kids' clothes there, it s really a great sale.

There are the Bennington Area garage sales this Saturday April 21st. I will be having a sale and I have a lot of baby items that I will be selling.

I am a garage sale, flea market junkie. Been doing it since I was little...very little. LOL!! Anyways, The world hearld is great for finding sales. If someone invest the 17 bucks for an ad in the paper their sale is usually worth your time. If you are looking for Nice, designer clothes for kids and adults look at the southwest area for garage sales. They usually have nice baby gear and toys to. The other areas are really hit and miss. I hate investing gas and finding a sale to discover it is less than par. Soon neighborhood sales will start and those are the best! You can go to dozens of sales in a couple of square blocks. Less gas money wasted.

Then there is reruns are fun. it is expensive. Much more so than going to sales. But if you want to hit one sale get it done and not bother the rest of the season and usually paying at least 4 times the amount though. Than go for it. I usually go and get very little cause I can see most of it has been inflated to the nth degree for convienice. Although, I usually get easter dresses this way for my daugther and a few barbies that are still in perfect condition. If you want any advice. feel free to email me. I spend every thursday, usually the day most sales start here, and friday garage saleing. My whole little family has a blast.

Those listed are great opportunities; also, there is a store on 140th Street (north of Oakview mall) that sells "gently used" children's clothing, books, toys and equipment. It is very well stocked and quite clean and the merchandise is in very good condition and priced very reasonably. I just purchased two skirts and three pair of name brand jean shorts for my 9-year old and paid less than $30! The name escapes me right now but it is quite easy to find by turning north on 14oth street and winding around. It is on the right hand (N) side of the street. Happy shopping!

I'm not sure if you are familiar with Reruns R Fun but it's coming up next week. It's a HUGE consignment sale with tons of gently used baby/kid stuff for pretty cheap. Anything you could possibly need...they will have. Check out their site and you can even print out a "first time mom's" pass to shop a day before it's open to the public. It's located in La Vista...at 84th and Brentwood. www.rerunsrfun.net

i also saw on tv the other day about an indoor flea market type thing in the old rod kushes(sp) building off 72nd and L. haven't looked into that yet.. not even sure if it has anything to do with kids stuff, or just general house stuff.

the best garage sales are neighborhood /subdivision garage sales. we usually have one in our neighborhood in the summer.

good luck
