My 3 1/2 year old has been licking his lips and around his lips a lot the past couple weeks. As a result he has dry patches that are really red and even a spot that looks like it may have been bleeding a little. I have used vasoline, and chapstick on it but he continues to lick it. How can I get him to stop and what can I put on it to heal it faster?
This may seem trivial, but my 22 month old daughter has a VERY red nose from a bad cold. Her nose and upper lip are so red and nearly raw. She usually cooperates with nose-wiping, but it is so bad that she fights us to wipe her nose. We are using Puffs with lotion, and periodically putting vaseline under her nose where it is most red. Any other suggestions to help soothe this discomfort? I'd love to hear your home rememdies or suggestions. Thanks in advance for any and all help!
